An interesting fact. Bjorn wrote the Lyrics for this song while alone at the studio one evening. He and Agnetha were in the middle of their marriage falling apart. He was relating to himself in these words. Having to stay at the studio as long as he could to avoid more arguments when he got home. If it wasn't for the nights he would be alright. And think about it. Agnetha sings all these songs relating to their breakup. Incredible that she can without crying her eyes out each time. Maybe she has and she has no more tears to shed. ABBA were amazing at this “sadness on the dancefloor“ stuff. Other groups that also nailed this are the Pet Shop Boys and New Order.

I love the fact that they just did their own thing. No choreography here, they just danced to their own tune ..... Literally.

These days that performance would be overproduced and choreographed to death where all the joy and spontaneity is bled out. When performances are too contrived and produced they lose something and become robotic. If that makes ABBA so eternal is their inherent fun, that’s their natural humanity.

Frida's energy and joy of performing are simply contagious on this performance.

@@pennykorte6714 that's because it was pouring rain and the stage was dangerous. None of them should have been out there. Rain and electrical equipment and slippery stages are a set up for disaster. But they didn't want the fans to be dissapointed. She fell hard too!

One and perhaps, the only big mistake of ABBA, they didnt make this SUPER HIT a single. Its just a soooooooo cool song, with hooks in all the parts. Just amazing.

Love the outfits. Frida usually had a lot of say in them. She took design courses in Stockholm in case singing didn't work out and is quite an accomplished seamstress. She designed and sewed the waterloo costumes, the snakeskin suit and helped design and sew the famous cat dresses the girls loved to wear. It was Fridas idea to have a long skirt on those dresses fastened by velcro and taken off to reveal the micro mini skirts underneath. She looks like a red headed wonder woman here lol. Love it.

She didn’t break it off. He did and he got married months after their divorce. She was still so young, birthed two babies… and all alone. The winner takes it all has a whole new meaning.

@@viciousLUA The divorce was made official in mid 1980 but Bjorn and Agnetha had separated in late 1978. He remarried in January 1981. Although there was pain in the split, we shouldn't judge everything by sad looks in videos. When 'The Winner Takes It All' video was being filmed, Agnetha was in a year long relationship with fashion shop owner, Dick Hakansson.

Frida is a great dancer. Took lessons 5 or 6 times a week. Her teacher Graham Tainton said she could have done it professionally. Agnetha, ummm let's just say dancing certainly wasn't her Forte lol. Poor girl looks ridiculous dancing like a robot.
