This video shows the simulation of a ball valve 16inch class 1500 with a design pressure of 200bar and at 72°C. The scope of this work was the verification by ASME VIII division 2 part 5 of the flanges, the body of the valve, the bolting and gaskets seatting.
The first step is the tightening of bolts, the second is the pressure on the left side when the valve is closed, the third is the pressure after the opening of the valve.
The stress level on all parts of the valve are within the allowable values defined in the ASME code.
