It's both creepy and sad seeing what once was vibrant and cheerful, full of children making memories of getting to choose out a toy or a video game. Now dim, sad and abandoned with no children choosing a toy or video game out... I used to go to Toys R Us all the time when I was younger. It's sad that it is now gone.

Toysrus changed the world. I bet everyone were furious when it was closed. If I were Thanos, I would use the Reality Stone to make Toysrus reopen. Some people think they’re just renaming it to “Jeffery” (witch was the name of the giraffe of Toysrus).

I'm old enough to remember when Toys R Us first opened its new store in Mesquite, Texas, near Town East Mall. I was five years old and screamed with excitement as I walked through the colorful entrance with my parents. It seemed like a child's dream come true.

I remember as a kid going down the video games aisle. Nintendo, Sega Genesis and Turbo Graphics 16 systems. First generation transformers, He-Man, train sets, RC racing tracks. Damn! I always drooled.

Even though this was 4 years ago, still it's amazing that you actually had the chance to go inside!! I know I made this comment on other vids, but I'm sharing this to whoever wants to know this. I passed by the Toys R Us I went to as a kid, and the logo sign is still perfectly on the building, but the place is boarded (the boarding is painted in white). It's sad though that it's just sitting there abandoned.

We were broke growing up so I don't have too many fond memories of Toys R Us. I remember one trip where we went and couldn't afford anything. Beyond that it was nothing but a commercial with a catchy jingle around the holidays where I'd see kids playing with stuff I was never going to get.

I.... *_M Y H E A R T-_* Edit: My best memory was when everyday after daycare, my dad would take me to pick out a skylander or two at Toys R Us. What made me extremely sad was when I went there on one of the last days. They were selling a Hex for 25 cents. I bought a bunch of them and the cashier looked and smiled at me. While I was in college I worked a northern California Toys r Us store for 3 years. It was a cool place to work...nice people...work wasn't too bad. The Christmas's were hell but the pay was ok. That "dumpster" is a trash compacter and if it wasn't chained and not too heavy you could actually get inside.

There used to be a big ToysRUs near where my Dad lived. We’d go there every now and then, and we’d always get something. Made some good memories there, I remember when we drove by one time and there was no cars there. It was completely shut. I miss that place.

I don't know about you but I'm from Europe and I've always imagined that this is how all the shops after Black friday in America look like.

I used to work in this Toys R Us from 2008-2010. So weird to see it empty. Great memories of working there. With the mall right there and the train station down the street too, it’s no surprise that there’s full trash cans.

The reason Toys "R" Us and many iconic companies that have been around for decades, sometimes even more than a century, are closing down is because even though their business model is reasonably profitable there is way too much focus on satisfying the shareholders. People who have literally nothing to do with Toys" R" Us except the fact that they own part of it through stock trading demanding more return on their investment.

There are also many other factors, like the over buying of starwars merchandice and unpopular toys that they thought were popular. My parents actually think it was for a different reason. Back in the 90's or early 2,000's, my parents ordered a bunch of my sibling's favorite toys from toys are us online in early november before christmas. They would constantly get emails about how the toys were shipped off and that they'd be arriving soon, but at 5'oclock or so, less than a week before christmas, they got an email that said there was an overflux of orders and subsequently, none of what they ordered was actually shipped. They were refunded, but they had to go out and scramble to get things that even resembled what my siblings wanted. Needless to say, they never went to Toys R' Us again and they heard the same from a lot of people. They partially think that the sudden drop in customers along with the hiking prices killed the store.

There coming back as a completely different company however

This was in 2018 so when i was 4 i went there and my mum let me get loads and loads of toys she had to get a truck to pick them up they were great memories 😢

No matter what happens toys are us will still be in my heart

I have 3 favorite memories. My first was being about 9 years old and my grandma and mom took me to Toys R Us and at the time I was obsessed with Super Mario so I got Mario and Luigi figures and I got a really cool Godzilla doll, still have them. My 2nd memory was when I was about 10 or 11 and I got a metal detector and used it at my grandparents house for many years. Finally my last memory is more recent, the last couple of years before they closed my girlfriend and I went quite a few times to find cool collectibles. Hopefully they have some new toy store. I will miss Toys R Us.

11.30 the Back room was more likely the store room where they have all there deliverys come to each week,ready to put in to the shop ready for Customers to buy,All shops have them places,Where deliverys first come in too

The toys r us in Peterborough caught fire a few weeks ago so we lost our childhood has been ruined 😔

Over in france, toys r us was bought by another company and was renamed "pic wic toys", and recently, it has been bought again and will now be called "smyths toys". The great thing with this story here in france is that i can finally buy minecraft, mario and sonic figures (jakks pacific), poppy playtime products (sadly no fnaf merch... 😔). This store is just the best.

May the nostalgia rest in peace.

Can we appreciate for those who were born at the right time, to grow up going to toys R us while those who were born to not experience what we did 😪😢

Only went there once.

When I was a kid, my parents didn’t have enough money for us to get very many things, so every trip to Toys R Us was special and very rare Even though we could barely ever afford to go there, I was still on the birthday list and I’d freak out and cry whenever Geoffrey would call me because a giraffe on the phone with me just scared the hell out of me for some reason 😂

@@joeschmo9838 For my parents who were raising 4 kids close in age, yeah I’d say it was expensive for them. It was the “if one kid gets a toy, they all get a toy” situation so I’d say their prices multiplied by 4, yes expensive 😂 I do remember one time when I got to go pick out a Toys R Us exclusive Barbie car there and it was the best day of my life because I was like 7 lol

I’m glad I went to Toys R Us when I was little.

I still remember toys r us

I live in Mexico and here there's a department store called Liverpool, it's similar to Macys in the US, and they brought the brand to Mexico, I don't know how many stores Liverpool will open but to me was very weird to see these news. I was very surprised also, the last time I saw a Toys R Us store in the US was at Sunrise Mall in Brownsville, Texas at least 5 years ago or maybe more.

I'm 11 and I would always beg my mom to go to toys r us but there wasn't one near by so she said she would take me on my birthday but by then they shut it down. And now I'm just sitting here wishing I could have that experience
