HISTORY
Built to become part of the pre-existing Floral Hall Complex, by Raikes Construction, Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, and designed by their in-house architect, for Southport Corporation.
Construction started in November 1972 and was completed in six and a half months at a cost of £264,000.
The original complex has undergone a comprehensive remodelling and updating in recent years and is now called the Southport Theatre and Conference Centre.
Southport Theatre and Convention Centre (STCC) went bust in May 2020, just weeks after the country went into the first lockdown, the ECHO reports.
The company behind the STCC, Bliss Space, was forced into liquidation citing the "devastating" trading conditions caused by the pandemic.
