ABANDONED & NEGLECTED! We Pressure Washed this Patio FOR FREE!

After cleaning the windows on this property for around a year I had to offer to pressure wash the patio.
Unfortunately, the owners weren't interested in paying to have the patio cleaned as they don't use the patio and had done for a number of years. So I HAD to offer to clean it free of charge for them.
Due to not using it there was actually having the old pool, turned pond, filled in a few weeks after I visited to avoid any nasty accidents.
I hope you enjoy the video.

    That place had fallen behind. Thank you for your work to bring it back towards normal. There was a lot of algae, lichen, moss, etc. to deal with. (In Permaculture, a pond would draw adequate moisture to an area. My tendency would be to turn the pool into a natural pond, with ornamental or edible fish.) About 14:03, it begins to get fun, as the wash-off of all the grime starts to show the remarkable color-change. The shift at 15:21 is charming. The houses warm color is showing and the yard begins to help show it off. A nice before and after look at the end.

    Thanks for the great comment Robert! Yes I think a pond or even restoring back to a swimming pool would make the garden look great again, as the house has been looked after.

    Ryan brilliant job, great transformation, you mentioned about the pool being filled in, surplus to requirement. But maybe explain to people re things like moving planters, otherwise they will ask. I knew there's a reason for whatever you do. Good on you buddy, you battled on even though you weren't feeling 100%, bravo, grand work and doing it for free! Lucky people. Watching from New Zealand.

    I was surprised that you did not start with a strong SH treatment first, it would have saved you time.

  • @KirbsideCleaning

    @KirbsideCleaning

    Жыл бұрын

    What makes you think that? SH kills organic growth, it wouldn’t have removed any of the moss or weeds. I’m not trying to be argumentative I’m genuinely interested into why you think that as I hear lots of conflicting points for it 👍

  • @wuhala100

    @wuhala100

    Жыл бұрын

    @Kirbside Cleaning I believe that applying SH at the beginning will kill some of the organic material leaving less to pressure wash. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the pressure washing takes the longest time. In regards to the weeds it's either turbo nozzle or pull by hands.

    Can you also tell me why in the UK you don't have a storage tank for surfactant or SH so that you can purchase supplies in bulk?

  • @KirbsideCleaning

    @KirbsideCleaning

    Жыл бұрын

    @@wuhala100 so i started this job at 8:30ish arrival and left at around 2pm all packed away. The hypo can lift dirt but personally I wouldn’t say that it would affect clean time in any great form, especially with block paving as a lot of the time is spend cleaning up the muck. When cleaning concrete it’s to get a better more uniform clean doing a post and pre treatment but you still need to follow all the steps of cleaning so time wise it doesn’t really help, again in my opinion. I do buy my chemicals in bulk but they come in 20L barrels for hypo and 5L barrels of surfactant so I can just take what I need, if I had a tank it would take up room in the van and think it would be more of a hindrance, although if I had a van mounted set up I’d consider it

    Spraying dirt and dirty water into the pool is terrible. Just because the pool has algae it doesn’t need mud in the bottom too. Algae can be treated with chemical and easily vacuumed out. Now they’ll have to drain the pool to shovel out the dirt. No favours done there.
