I remember U-Haul having the little Toyotas when I was a kid (I'd kinda like to have one), but I've never seen one of those Couriers, that thing is too cool.

For me it was after a month the cravings for a drink dropped a ton

I used to drive one of these when I worked at U-Haul way back when. It's called an "MM" known as a mini mover. Very cool trucks to drive. They are VERY rare nowadays. We couldn't keep them on the lot back in the day. They were always being rented out.

Congrats on 90 days brother, heres to a whole lot more. Just be careful with all them mini trucks, they are a double edged sword... They can definitely occupy enough of a fellas time and money to keep him away from the bottle, or they can irritate a fella right back to it when they go bad. Just be careful friend, love the content.

I met an old feller who lives out of one of these in the summer, converted the box to a camper and lifted it a few inches. Awesome little trucks!

Haha, this is great!! Back in the late 80s, when I only had a driver's permit, I had a job as a line boy for Yoo-Haul at one of their NYC locations. This was back when every truck in that fleet was an old Ford with a manual transmission. The Mini-Movers I remember were probably a couple years older (more like a Ranger with a 8x8 box just stuck on it), but pretty much the same as this beastie. I had a lot of fun (over) loading these with a load of party tables, etc. for local deliveries all over the insane streets of NYC, but the best thing was that at this shop, the Minis lived upstairs, up a spiral ramp, and there was no room to turn around up there...,so we'd have to back them up the spiral ramp. I got really good at that, even at rather high speeds. Really the only "sporty" thing in their fleet; the 10-footers are pigs by comparison (although they can haul more). Enjoy this stupid thing!!

This is still my favorite video to go back and watch,, pretty cool to look where Yeehawl started,, and see the excitement looking through it together!!

You can also throw a deregulated alternator in and have a stick welder. Classic broncos forum has a tutorial on a 130 Amp 3G alt.

you know people talk crap all day about the inline 4s, the 2.3l lima and the iron duke, but they last forever, and with marrying a turbo to them (SVO, turbo coupes), the lima can certainly play with the quicker guys out there for sure. What a phenomenal engine, a testament of its class from being in the ford pinto in 1970 (pre fuel injected) to the late rangers, with it being bored out to 2.5l.

What a cracking little sit-up-and-beg luv to see it all sparkly and new.

I revived an old U Haul when I worked at a salvage yard a few years ago. It had been sitting for years and I bought it for scrap, but I decided to play around with it since I had never had one before. I played around with it for about an hour, and it fired right up. I used it around the yard for a couple of weeks, then slapped a for sale sign on it and sent it to a new home. It cost less than $50 to make it driveable again. Hopefully it's still on the road somewhere. Those things are tough. That's one thing I miss about working there. Saving as many as possible was my favorite part of the job.

Congrats on reaching the 3 month landmark! Nov 11th will be 1 year for me.

I've always wanted one of these. Everytime I rent a U-Haul I tell the wife, "I need one".

Those things were everywhere up here in WI when I was growing up. I think they got replaced by the van looking ones. When these came up for sale they got snatched up and hoarded away, a lot of them go used for "shop truck" but up here that meant they got to run in the salt all winter until they were nothin left but the box, then people cut those off and sold them for $50 as portable sheds. Honestly, I don't think you could ask for a better "stuff mover" so long as you aren't trying to load it down too much. I mean its flat inside with a knee high load height and you can strap things up no problem. I hope you get this thing fixed up, it will serve you well for a long time!

A man and his U-Haul. What else is there to say? Don't get any better than that. Living the dream.

That's going to be a really useful workhorse, sweet engine and bags of character so a great score.

Nothing puts me in a better mood on a Monday than hearing that opening music.

Years ago I used to work with some friends of mine and we used to go and pick up U-Haul truck's and drop them off at each location where they were needed, Once in awhile I'd get to drive a little ittt bitty Toyota Damn those were a fun little truck. Thanks Puddin.

That's super cool! I remember seeing those when I was a kid and thinking they couldn't really haul very much. You should restore it to new condition. I don't think you'd see another at the car meets!

Not only have I seen one, I found one right here in the deep woods of Kentucky and bought it a few months back. Got it for a friend up in Indiana. He's making it badass!

I had that same Ford courier uhaul. I still have the box off of it. In the process of turning the box into a little baby pull behind enclosed trailer.

In the mid 90's I drove that same truck for years delivering parts. Beat the hell out of it, and it never once broke down that I can remember, just had to add a quart of oil once in a while. Can't say the same for the 79 Chevy flat bed we had, that thing left me sitting on the side of the road more than once. Mine didn't have the awesome U-haul Mono radio like yours though. Shout out to the ol' gang at RPM in Fresno. Most importantly, Happy 3 month birthday!!!!! That's Awesome!!!!!!!!

The engine is a 2.3 litre Ford . The square block fuel pump is a Mazda item that works better than most. If you inspect the intake manifold, you may find a removable adapter that will let you fit an old school Ford two barrel carburetor..p.s. beware of a possible speed governor on that truck, U haul did that on most of their stuff.

I used to work for a guy who had an old Ford u haul like this. His had the 460 and the 4 speed. I'll never forget being in the slow lane on the hwy with the truck and the damn shifter broke off the trans and left us stranded 😂🚚

Ammo casings make great hole cutters for gaskets. Select the caliber to match the hole you need. Also: Put chapstick on gaskets to make them release easier in the future.

My dad had the exact same truck. It was also a U- haul truck. He used it for his lawn care business for like 15 years.
