I'm sorry, I had to stop. I know this is a real issue with real lives on the line, but god damn are those death animations just hilarious to look at.

nope, there are even false floors in mines. and you often don't see a winze, or shaft until you are right on it. and that can be too late.

Would that if could be for those who wish to explore these death traps that they could execute a legally binding "living will" prior to entering that would relieve and hold harmless society of the obligation to rescue and/or recover them following an accident. Those who determine, freely of their own will, to enter these places have made a rational decision as to their own safety. Fair enough, you roll the dice, you accept the consequences, fully and without recourse. Further, these same individuals have no right to subject first responders to hazards which no rational person would accept unless forced to by people with a burning desire to see how this hole in the ground differs from any one of a hundred others. First responders are people like everyone else. They have families who wait each day for them to come home. Think before you risk your life and theirs too.

They show wooden ladders, you can't buy wooden ladders anymore. Even new wood ladders designed by engineers aren't really safe when new.

Put up Danger signs!!! Any idiot who ignores them, will bring disaster on themselves. However, one can explore a mine with proper training and equipment. See videos on abandoned mines. Why explore abandoned mines when there are safe activities and wonderful places to explore!!!

All this video did was show people how cool places like old mines can be and encourages them to explore them. The "points" you were trying to make weren't very convincing. "When you're walking in the dark and not paying any attention you could fall into a hole and die." REALLY? What if guys went in with rappelling gear, kept a line on the front guy and everyone had helmets with lights on? You could rule out injury by virtually ALL of the "hazards" you described. "Don't play with dynamite" or blasting caps seems pretty obvious too. "Don't touch the poisonous snakes" seems like another unnecessary warning. I find it more disturbing that large amounts of money are being used to pour toxic chemicals into these places to keep people out but let critters continue to use them. Apparently people like yourselves think only YOU should be allowed to explore these places and decide for others what can and can't be seen by anyone else. Why don't you post a sign and move on, letting the individual decide what THEY want to risk their own butt on? Bet you don't have any problem with kids joining the military and being inserted into someone else's hot LZ and being wounded or dying on foreign soil? If YOU want to live inside a plastic bubble, then go for it. Some people would rather be dead than live that kind of life. This USED to be a land of FREEDOM. Maybe you should think on that.
