There is a abandoned set on the sandwich bypass near the Discovery Park, they have bags over the lights but they are still there after being replaced with a new set closer to the Phizers/Discov Park entrances

I don't understand - why couldn't they be relocated to somewhere they will be needed to prevent waste?

It’s interesting to see them still standing, there is a pelican crossing just like this in York that it still in use, with Page lanterns and a Microsense MPC controller

One pole looks perfectly fine

I’m more interested in street lighting but starting to like traffic lights. Surrey appears from what I’ve seen to have replaced most (if not all) of their traffic lights to LEDs - so a lucky find. Surrey are also replacing or retrofitting their street lamps too 😢

I used to think the old sodium street lights with the orange glow were great. They dont exist now in Suffolk. All white LED

Abandoned in 2002 as the fairly unusual give way to the left made it a common place for accidents

Oh wow, so its been abandoned for a while then. Last I checked a couple of months ago, these lights are still here.

@UKLevelCrossingsChannel They are still there. 21 years strong It's weird though because there's no plans to ever bring the slip road back even though it technically closed temporarily accidents on frimley high street dropped from around 40 a year to around 0.

The back one is untouched and the road is a dead end

Wow. The only other lights I’ve seen like those two at the front were the ones that took damage in the IRA bombing in Manchester in 1996.

You certainly don't see lights in a state like this often. It's weird they've been left like this and not completely removed.
