Remember that engine NEEDS A LEAD ADDITIVE! It will destroy the Valves if you don't use it!
@RADIUMGLASS
2 жыл бұрын
Not using the lead additive eventually killed my engine. The previous owners didn't bother to use it during fil ups. I had one similar to this, same color but from 1971.
And my pappy said "son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that Hot. Rod. Lincoln." Thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next one. 👍
Absolutely gorgeous car, I'm so envious at this find. Muscle cars are all well and good, but I'm a land yacht guy all the way. Low and slow baby! I'd give this beast a clean-up, fix the brakes, drop in a working period stereo (gotta have the tunes in one of these!) and daily her just as she is.

Hey...these cars are not slow lol....Not fast but still quick off the line and top speed is in the 140-150 range, all while holding the sheel with your pinky!

@@tskraj3190 I have no clue how to respond to that. I have two of them that go 140 plus, one being bone stock. I have to look for a slip from Daytona or some other track back in the day that shows an official speed check, although GPS is accurate enough.
I think that the new garage is the perfect opportunity for a "fleet update" episode.
Great Coverage Of The Lincoln Continental Mark III, What A Classy Ol-Gal!! She’s Worth The “Budget Build” Restoration Mike, For Your Dad, He Was Just Smiling Driving It..
Damn. One of my favourites. It sickens me to see that it was left outside uncared for. Thank you for saving her. I wish I can find such a beaut someday.
6:43 I'd often wondered why big old cars had those kind of door handles. Now I know. It's for securing the bonnet mounted fuel tank. Of course.
Man if that car could talk, the stories it could tell. This car is from a time when men/women at the assembly plants truly took pride in their work 👍

Your referring to the Car and that donut ending, what scene can you think of it? I know what may or may not think reference?
The Continentals were really nice cars back then. I look forward to seeing her after the cleanup.
Keep this beauty for your self.these were in some old movies.
When that thing first moved, I'm sitting here giving you thumbs up and grinning just like you were. LOVE IT!
I moved away from home back in my early 20's for a job at the other end of my state. Because of that, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my parents. Now, they've both passed on, and I miss them every day. Seeing how much fun you have working on these projects with your Dad makes me envy your relationship with him. Never forget how lucky you are to have these times, my friend.
That’s a pretty sweet car! I love seeing these old cars get back on the road. I recently saw someone get a 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car back on the road after being parked for several years. The condition of the car really wasn’t that bad, they cleaned it up and it looked nice 👍

I'm amazed how well that engine runs!
The transmission will have a vacuum modulator on the passenger side rear corner of the case. When those goes bad they can suck transmission fluid into the intake manifold thru a vacuum hose. Once you get it full, if it continues to loose fluid and there isn't any leaks then I would replace that.
Your neighbors must love you,😎😎😎👍👍👍

Lovely. My garage is much too small for this beautiful car…. I would love it 👍👍👍👍✌️
Thank you so much for continuing to work on this car. You’ve brought back a piece of my childhood.
This was fun for me..... I have a /76 Mark IV .....it was abandoned in a garage for 10 yrs..... I've had it back on the road now for the last 12 yrs..... awesome cars....keep going..... they come back to life.....!!!
Now, picture that in good interior shape with 4 brakes and you'll understand why I love land yachts. You can drive that car all day and NOT feel the least bit tired at the end of the day.
You got a Good one...There a sweet Car. I had a 79 Lincoln. I loved it. Hope you restore her too her orginal Glory. Theres not too many of them like that around. Great Video
Great save, always appreciated these old cars when you can tell what it is a mile down the road.
Great vids on salvaging that fine Lincoln! But as another commenter already noted... GET THE LEAD (additive) IN!
Check the gap on the points and use a vacuum gauge along with that timing light to get it just right.
refinish the vinyl roof, then cut n buff the paint the bootlid will need a repaint ,,its worthy of restoration
I am so glad to see you being able to expand. I absolutely love and believe in what you do. You are heros weather you know it or not. We need to save as many of these vehicles left behind before the history is lost go good. That and it reminds me of when I was just a kid working on old steel with may dad. Thanks again and stay safe.
Sweet Car! I always liked this version. It just needs a little love ... and a lot of money.
Love that Lincoln, can't wait for the detailing! Excellent work!
Thanks for saving classics, she's a beauty. Can't wait to see her cleaned up. 👍🏽👍🏽
You find the coolest old CARS love it Bring Back Alive 😎😎😎💟
What a wonderful old car! It definitely deserves to be restored! Very similar to the drug smuggler's Lincoln in the movie The French Connection
Brilliant channel, real glad I found it, the Lincoln brought me here 👌👌👌🏴
Good call on the type F in the P/S pump. Not a lot of people would have caught that.
The power seat & window motors on older cars are often serviceable. Sometimes all they need like a starter motor is a good tap while pushing the button. The buttons also can be serviced & cleaned (watch for the little springs) a guy on the internet cleans the plug connectors with toilet bowl cleaner (Old Car Alley) Soaks with cleaner then rinses with water.

I've been watching you for years and loving your resurrection of so many wonderful, old relics. Keep it up. (And please finish the Porsche.)
Cool car, cool donuts! :) I'd love to see this old barge as the next full resto project, as the Porsche is nearly ready.
Yes a car that goes; suck, push, bang and blow, without all the electronics, happy days working on those types of cars.
Love these cars, please do a full clean up video on it :=
This is awesome, father and son sharing life. That car is a smoothhhh runner.
That's amazing, can't wait for the detail!
Man that engine sounds smooooth! Great video!👌😎👍it’s worth restoring!
Congrats on the new shop! Can't wait for more videos!
Nice car. The big beast I remember from my teens. Sounds great. Look forward to more on this one. Be safe and stay well.
Excellent job on a fantastic classic car!
NEEDS A LOT OF WORK BUT SHE SCREAMS SAVE ME!
Love the Mark III man!
Good to see you and your dad having fun!
I would totally drive that beast!
Thanks for every video, I love the older cars and trucks, this is something I want to do with my son, a project car.
Have you checked for a vacuum leak? The peekaboo headlights should go down. I think there was just one motor that year that operated both of them. Pop the spring on them and they should work.
What a beautiful grand old car! I hope you can bring it back to its full glory!
Cool new shop, I’m glad you’re going to be able to make more videos in the future
What a beaut car/land yatch. You fella's do a fabulous job on these revivals, and deserve all the praised given. Not sure if you've got one, but years back I had a Ryco vacuum gauge for carby tuning. Good piece of kit back then prior to everything electronic. Keep up the good work.
I really love your old Ford 2 door. Old school.
This is a very nice find, great car! you are really progressing in the right direction, I think. Congrats buddy!
Had a friend that briefly owned one back in the day. Great ride, loaded with options, and a great pimp mobile.
Great update on the Lincoln .Nice old car .well done on great content Michael
A great looking car. Nice find. Those Lincoln's are nice!!
Keep the awesome content coming! I really love your channel and have learned a lot from you!
Didn't Steve McGarrett drive one of these in Hawa'ii Five O? Gotta love that suspension dive after all these years.

Love this channel and it's great to see the expansion.
This channel just keeps developing and getting better and better. I could not think of a more absurd car than Crown Jewels and 3 ton MK 111 Lincoln that i saw as a small kid my neighbor owned. Incredible and insane at the same time. Keep going Mike. Keep-’em running. LoL
Great work like always.!!!
So cool! I really like your videos. You do a great job.
verry nice job havin fun working on cars ...heck yeah
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! This low mileage engine runs great, very smooth and powerful. Im eagerly looking forward to watch the next part. 2) There is a famous cartoon series in Germany called "Werner". This crazy guy drives a Lincoln continental in several episodes with his friends. His creator even has a black one for real and drives it. Best regards, luck and health.
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Nice more space! Wishing you continued growth and success.
Looks like Batman's Sunday taking his mom to church rig. Nice... 👍
Been watching in the UK since the first Porsche episode, love the work and the sound is much better on the video now, can't wait to hear that Porsche run!
I love your video chaps l am from the uk 🇬🇧 so too see your big old cars it’s great can’t wait to your next video stay safe 👏👏👍
Отличный выпуск , машина очень крутая , молодцы что дали ей второй шанс.
Nice find! That model has beautiful body lines! Nice burnout at the end there! Haha 👍
I just love the fuel tank Why don’t all cars have them on the bonnet like that What could possibly go wrong 😂😂 That is a beauty 👍👍
Excellent video :) also these car are awesome and amazing to drive for sure! Fix up plus get all repairs needed and take to vechiles shows too !
My 1971 Mark III got tornadoed here in Joplin back in 2011. Still run and drove great, but looked like it had been in a demolition derby. I had owned it for 25 years.
Michael that body style is so sweet
Awesome car. Glad you saved it. Subscribed!!
Had a 68 4dr Lincoln, where I got my nickname Prez , seemed like that car was built by the same company that built the titanic 😅
Very similar to the Lincoln used in the 1971 Academy Award winning movie, The French Connection. Be sure to check the rocker panels for contraband. Plate C
My Dad bought a new 69 , also black ; I never thought I'd live to see one in that condition.
what a beauty. get it functional. take care of any major rust. conserve it. and never sell it. it's a keeper.
Good Job! I used to own this car for 11 years. If you have any questions drop a note. By the way you forgot to title this video as Part 2.
A Continental requires a 2 car garage...1 side for it, and the other side for everything you will have to replace 😁 Seriously though, it's nice to see that pavement bruiser scattering some gravel. This is the 1 that I would suggest taking on a future Power Tour (after you get all of the bugs out, of course). How are the VW Caddy and the Comet doing? Those are my top 2 favorites.
Awesome i had one!! Took it to school every day in the 90s
I don't know what car featured in the movie THE CAR, about the evil car that killed tons of people, but that car is right up there for that title, just spray it matt purple and fit nasty sounding airhorns, lovin that car, that's a keeper : - )

The car you're talking about was a customized '71 Lincoln Mark III in the movie, if I recall.
Those garage doors need a power wash as well. Some simple green and a nice spray pff.
Please keep this beaut original. Those turbine wheel covers are super cool and as I've heard, they are a few pounds in weight.
This is a majestic car!
I love this land yacht of a car. Probably wouldnt fit into my garage 😂🤣
That is one sweet ride 👌
glad to see you growing the channel and doing well love the content keep up the hard word
My neighbor had one just like that He said in the 90s they would be worth money.....I didnt believe him but Look at the following now!
Cool car that. Deserves to be back on the road. A real head turner amongst today’s meh euro boxes
Nice video ... When you did that donut at the end of the video it reminded of the graveyard scene from the movie "The Car" (which also happened to be a black Lincoln coupe, but was a 71).
Yes been waiting
Great stuff
Heck yeah, doing amazing!
