And it's not just packed with stuff, it's packed with their art and doodles and even digital artifacts I wish I could pore through. Also that handmade Who's the Boss VHS cover is amazing. I have noticed in several videos that these guys seem to be scared of calendars. They often skip over them or pass them around without mentioning them. However, calendar is a good hint in determining when certain room was last used. It would be helpful if they could pay more attention to them.

My favorite aspect of these videos is that they document such incredible finds as the room you found at 9:19. That was once a room someone really lived in and put all their time into. Now, in its abandoned state, no one would know it even existed. But now with the power of the internet and creative content creators like you, people can view and admire it for years to come. It’s really an incredible journey and none of it would be possible without you!

An old man loved here. I laughed when you said that the video projector were old. I used one like the large back one in 1987 for work. You can age on clothes by labels, and collar widths. I think the owner died and left the house as is. His computer stuff is dated, but he had flat screen monitors from 20010 or so. The brand of food are not American, but you can get the age the thing by breaking the lot code. Sell by date, etc. I actually had a Soundesign clock radio similar to the one there. The stuff there appeared to be from the 1950s through 1990s, The flat screen monitor appears to be newest thing in there. A great urbex find. I love your videos. you take your time looking around, and I can identify stuff easier.

The hand-drawn art on the walls in the room you found kinda give me a Henry Darger kind of vibe. Darger was a custodian who worked on fiction writing and painted in his spare time, but his work wasn’t discovered until after he had died. Perhaps whoever was living in the house was following in Darger’s footsteps.

Here we go again. Another pad with everything left behind. Why? We will probably never know. These homes leave us with so many questions. This one shall remain a mystery, as all the others left abandoned with their property. Did the owner travel, perhaps a truck driver, a sailor. Were the caps gifts? The large vinyl movie collection are similar to record albums inside. You would slide the whole disk along with the cover inside the RCA Selectavision. It would remove the vinyl out, and you could watch your movie. I owned one of these in the 80's. Along with many movies. These players really didn't take off. They were in competition with VHS and probably other technology at the time. They only lasted on the market for three years. The man may have passed from diabetes complications? I just know I have mixed emotions after watching these videos. Happy to know it appeared he may have enjoyed his many hobbies and his life. Sad, not really knowing why it was left behind? 😢 P€ac€ ~n~ £0v€

I am thinking the house was long in a state of disrepair even before the owner died. If it is who I think it is, the owner died at the beginning of 2022 so that should not have been enough time a house that was in good condition. My guess is that the owner was sick these past few years and could not take care of the home and died so shortly after it started to fall apart. The lights look positioned to indicate it is still occupied so who knows if that was how this is set up or not.

I am from Europe and so i have a few questions because this is very interesting for me to see. First question what was the latest calendar that you have found there? What do you think the year was when the house got abandoned? And second question is there a legal way to find who were the owners and publish this story on YT? Why did the property got abandoned? I am asking because these kind of videos always ends for me with a cliffhanger i just want to know what the whole story is about and without knowing its very hard to forget these kind of places

At 12:06 you can see a 1984 calendar (it says Kentucky Fried Chicken at the bottom), which I assume was the current one at the time. My big question here is, who's paying the electric bill? Someone must still have some sort of interest in the house.

The owner passed away (at his home) on January 28, 2022. He was single and had no children. It's very possible that the electricity payment is still being automatically drafted from his checking account, or that his surviving siblings are making the payments. He had 4 surviving siblings and one sister in law . Also had many nieces and nephews. Side note: He had a produce stand in front of the house where he sold produce he grew.

@@ferociousgumby It's possible. But its also possible that he was very neat, and someone ransacked the place in the last year. I'm sure some of the decay started before he died as the kitchen is in quite bad condition.

We don’t like it when you show the pictures of the family. It feels like a violation of the family and the other people in the pics. Again, we love the content, keep up the great work.

That would be an 70's early 80's weight bench set weight's where filled with cement. I had a small set in 83, 84 I was 7, 8 at the time. I remember those picture albums we used Kodak Film back when there was a small booth out side in the parking lot of the Zeher's grocery stores. It would be nice if some one came across a old musical instrument a old acoustic guitar with case that was still playable but other's have most likely looted the place for valuable's already thing is those old cam corder's, camera's, VHS players etc are worth big $$ to collector's now.

Abandoned homes with power still hooked up were owned by someone who died in hospital, with nobody to take over, or were in prison. Some may have even been prayed upon by wildlife, if they live in a heavily wooded area. But, most importantly, these people had a bank account which was setup for autopay, and very likely, they were on a retirement or disability income which was never discontinued by the sources. Looks like that person gradually slipped into a state of depression, and started hoarding, at some point. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing this.

The wedding pictures in the album were in 1971. The bride wore an empire bridal gown which was the style back then. We had the same type album with family pictures. Someone is paying for the electricity. I would like to know the story. Usually there is family who will clean out the house and put it up for sale. Why it is abandoned? It just breaks my heart to see one of these houses. It probably has black mold or asbestos in the walls.
