It’s like loving care was used in closing it. It had been a well used and well cared for business and l am impressed the owners left it in such a beautiful, respected way.

When I was 13 or so. A few friends and myself thought we would sneak into the oldest funeral home where we lived near Toronto. This funeral home was operational and like most kids we found a window to crawl through. When we walked around all shit scared, what we didn't expect was to find ourselves in a prep room where the director was preparing a recently passed person. He was wearing what looked like headphones and was oblivious to us being there. We were able to sneak off and that was the last time we ever acted brave again. It was so scary at the time and I don't think I slept for 2 or 3 nights after....

Great video. No annoying music playing. Camera work nice, slow and steady. What a beautiful place. Would make a beautiful home. However, there were many orbs floating around. At one time way too many to count. It was as if everyone who had been their in their spiritual nature were all coming at you. Great video. Keep up the professional work. Thanks for sharing.

This Funeral Home was in operation for a very long time.I knew the old owner.Been there a number of times.I was a mortician. This building was moved from its original location and moved to where it is now. They built a new Jr High School in its place. The place where it's at now used to be land once owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad up until the 1950's 0r 60's.Part of the 17th street PRR Shops.Altoona was built by the railroad and places like this.Great video.Thanks.

@Raymond Larcom I don't think so. When the funeral I worked changed to it's new location in 1979, a lot of green and gold was used. Before that the funeral home...it was founded in 1874 it was in an old house downtown a lot of the colors used there was burgundy and white. The funeral home today is still locally owned and operated with one family member and the funeral home's two employees that have been there the longest. I went by Thursday to visit and brought home SOUTHERN CALLS Simpson Funeral Museum in Virginia their magazine. A great magazine.

That place was all business all the way up to the third floor . Just a small kitchen area and bedroom for the funeral director. Very well built establishment. In no way would I care to move in there . If those are orbs I am unable to explain why they would be there. The place looks as if it were run professionally when it was in operation and unless the funeral director passed away there , no reason for spirits to hang around. That place reminds me of “ bodies here, bodies there, bodies just about everywhere “. Plenty of room on all four ( 4) floors to view and store bodies. I wouldn’t mind watching Amy and Adam explore this residence. ( Kindrid Spirits)…

Funeral Homes store spirit and emotional energy like batteries. It seems like the older it is, the more it holds which makes perfect sense. Some of the things I have recorded, experienced and seen and heard outright in these places is remarkable. All manner of physical interaction by unseen hands, noises, voices, etc. While I have seen many that I thought might be able to be turned into homes again and preserve the craftsmanship of another time, I feel that the energies there make them untenable for the living. It can actually overwhelm you and that isn't good for anyone. Not in a malevolent way mind you, but the emotional things you feel could, over time, really have an effect on the living. Sometimes, just knowing what the property used to be used for can cause your mind to wander in directions that might easily overtake you and then the stored emotional energy does the rest. What you have to remember about funeral homes is they took the place of having wakes in private homes but all that is associated with the death of a loved one is there and stays there. The loss, sadness, grief, memories of good and bad, fond recollections, reflection and every other emotion, thought or feeling associated with saying good bye to a loved one imprints on the very foundation of the house itself and you can't just remove that. It can be lessened or the positive can be kept while the negative is removed but it takes diligence on the part of the living to do that and it too is not easy.

Why would a spirit haunt a funeral home? Those "orbs" are dust particles and light reflections. Other than the usual orbs and creepy noise crap this is a very nice funeral home. It wouldn't take much to get it up and running again.

Very nice video. Slow nice shots. Did you notice the weird stuff going on? About 2:44 or abit before it at the top of the stairs you can see a foggy mist go from right to left. Shortly before that weird sounds in the garage & just before the 1st bathroom the cammar jumps abit & you hear what sounds like an EVP then a very quick ORB flus from right to left just before the 1st bathroom shot. In the last room I know it looks like dust but I think they were Orbs. Dust falls down & doesn't zoom all over the place.

I REALLY hate that "most" funeral homes have us Humans programmed to "gloom & doom" that most all funeral homes are decorated as...I HATE the dark rooms, the red carpet, the dark wood trim, the heavy dark floor to ceiling curtains, the photos of what Heaven will look like", etc.. To "ME" its just to make "us" the living to feel better, when in reality...it spooks us more!!. Funeral homes need to come up to date & be set up as to..A happy event..like set up as a light picnic party, a bar, a cookout theme, etc..not this gloom & doom etc..( I know...ANY funeral service is JUST for the living, to make us feel better..but..bet ur life..our loved ones would want to go out in a more loved way- on back gounds in sinshine with a cookout, if they loved motor bikes, bikes pulled up to them, etc..not this "stuffie queen of England old out dated-creepy funeral home look" we are still doing..or, thats just " my opinion....you should Not say, or know..oh gezzz, I dont want to be in this creepy funeral home..no?

It wasnt international. I didnt add any sound effects. What you are hearing is actual audio of the guy I was with talking in the other room. This video was not tampered with in any way. I get that a lot. It does sound like I tried to make it creepy. I simply record and you are seeing and hearing exactly what I did. Thank you for watching. I dont believe in ghost nor do I promote them in my videos. My cemetery videos are the only ones I add effects to for the Halloween season. It's very obvious in those videos though. This one was not the case.

For the most part, this particular funeral home seems to have been well taken care of. I am sure that its effect on the bereaved was a calming one at a time of so much uncertainty and loss. Most people overlook these "spiritual" things and most of the activity might be easily explained away as age of the building, time of year, reflections or shadows caused by the lighting in the house. But if you open yourself to the possibilities, you will, no doubt, feel the energy that I am talking about and you might even have an experience of a more personal nature as well. Since it is such a part of the community, a real time capsule if you will of so much, I think it would be great if someone could step in and restore it to its former glory and make it a true home again.

i have seen a few other tours of abandoned funeral homes, a few with caskets everywhere, and the places looked like a cyclone tore thru them. In one room, the casket room, they found what appeared to be blood inside a casket, which means perhaps someone was almost buried before being embalmed. the low, demonic-sounding effect adds some creepiness to the video.

I saw one where they actually found bodys left behind. This one was freshly left. I had my eye on it for awhile after they shut their doors. I knew it was historic and wanted to film the inside the way it was incase someone buys it and remodels it into something else. Thank you for watching.

1331 8th Ave. Altoona. Was also the Stevens funeral home at one time. Wonderful old fixtures and the place looks very clean. Embalming laboratory has old, well kept equipment. Those were great embalming tables. Doesn't look like it would take too much to set up shop again, however, Federal regulations might deem the facility inaccessible enough for the handicapped. I've seen a lot of these old funeral homes over the years and worked in them as well.

I believe that you are incorrect about this being Stevens funeral home at one time. Stevens Funeral home is located at 1421 8th Avenue and has been there for generations. Stevens is still operating at that address. Gildon Barton was moved to 1403 9th Avenue a few years ago. (The building was picked up and moved)

One of the directors at the funeral home where I play the organ for chapel services just bought a church that recently closed. She is using the sanctuary for the chapel, the Sunday school rooms for viewings and reception and an adjoining building for preparation. Even a kitchen for receptions and a cemetery as well. The organ, furniture and kitchen equipment as well.

This needs to be saved. We are all human beings. From the very start of it all. We need to respect the dead and realize more and more that we all have to face the truth individually. We didn't just happen. We've been billions and billions of years in the making. Now, more than ever, we need to respect and love each other. We are all so very very special. God, look around you and tell me we're not. I feel that we are coming to a crossroad and that it will be a very enlightening time. Please love your fellow human as we go through this life. There's more to come. Make sure your heart is pure.

When you were moving the camera around I spotted an old hearse sitting out front what happened to it? I hope someone bought it and restored it. In Elmira NY there is an abandoned Baptist Church on Church Street near Wisner park that place has been abandoned for 30 years. Everytime someone goes into the building to film and document the history to put on KZread people call the police. I guess people don't want the history of that old Baptist Church on Church Street in Elmira NY to be filmed and documented on KZread. Sincerely Robert Gildea Elmira NY
