That parking lot is huge and store. Those letters look small on camera but they are bigger in person. Omg the box 📦. I busted out laughing about it and they couldn't make it home. I needed a good laugh. Thank you Wallie, Kayla and Connie for the laugh.

I used to go this gander mountain with my dad because we passed it when we went on hunting trips. I remember going in there before it closed, the foundation problems was a big reason why it had to close. There was a massive spot near the front of the store that sunk down about 1 foot the last time I was in there. It’s sad to see it all closed down, many memories with my family there.

This one was a cool video thanks for sharing wallie We had one here in my town and they change there name to Gander then year later it close down

We had one which never been in the store, I think our closed within the last couple years but forget. I think Cabellas bought Gender Mountain in recent years. Thank you for sharing!

A have many memories of my dad taking me there as a kid, and when I was like five I got a fishhook stuck in my finger there, I even remember going there on the last day before closing. Our location is still abandoned with signage still up and it even still glows at night.

That's was really crazy and really cool

The Gander Mountain in Saginaw, Michigan was rebranded into a Gander Outdoors, which also closed. A Spirit Halloween shop is opening in the building soon.

I live in the Corsicana area. An update for you on gander mountain. The building has been bought and is going to be an RV Dealership.

Maybe I’m sheltered but I have no idea what’s in the box 😂

I spent half an hour trying to figure it out. I'm about 90% sure that it is a inflatable partner.

I guess that I am going to have to check out the box next week when I pass through

They probably broke in, got lucky inside 😉😆. Other than that, I can’t believe they left the lettering in the garden center.

Great video Wallie! I've never been to a Gander Mountain store. I no that Gander Mountain store was an outdoor gear store, so was that store set-up like Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop, with aquariums, stuffed wild animals, etc?

Gander Mountain were a lot more basic than Cabela's and Bass Pro. They had maybe a couple of animal displays in there but no aquarium. Was on more of a scale with Academy minus the athletic sports gear. Gander was pretty much devoted to hunting, fishing, and camping. Their gun inventory was massive. The firearms display almost the entire back wall and part of the side wall. This had a lot to do with their downfall since they had so much gun inventory and not enough sales. I heard Cabela's had done the same as well with their gun inventory and lost money and they got bought by Bass Pro

This location was one of their firsts. It had MASSIVE foundation issues. I remember the front doors, they had to chain them shut because they overlapped from the building shifting so much. The store when it first opened had lots of cool things, like a kayak pool to test kayaks and a whole ATV course for testing as well. But, all of that shuttered as time went on because the town and area couldn’t support these kind of things. It closed during bankruptcy in 2017 I believe.

Remember when Cabela's was actually considering this location? I remember that Corsicanans were just losing their collective minds (in a good way) over that possibility. I was pretty excited about that too (being from there and still having family there) as that could have been a real B12 shot for the local economy there. I seem to recall that right around the time Cabela's was going to make their final decision, some big controversy flared up with the city council and not long afterward Cabela's announced they were putting in their first TX location in north Fort Worth (Alliance area).

Gander Mountain in my area is now a At Home store and next to it is a abandon academy store

As far as I know all my Gander Mountains including the Gander Outdoors conversion locations are gone unfortunately. Ofc they all closed.

After the K-mart near me closed in 2014, homeless people kept breaking in and turning the power back on. They went through the garden center, loading docks, whatever. I can't really blame them trying to find shelter in the wet winters of Virginia.

WallieB26 can you do a video of the mostly abandoned University Square shopping center in University Heights Ohio? Macy's Applebees, and Target are the only places of businesses open. Lots of smaller stores closed. A abandoned Tops untouched since 2006. No working elevators. The stairwells are in bad shape with some closed off due to holes in the steps being that rusty. The parking garage is in bad shape. Suppose to turn into apartments got approved late May 2020. You would enjoy it. Problem is very far from where you live.

I turn notifications off. Meaning not on my home screen of my iPad and smartphone. In the subscriptions area I get notifications. New videos go there are 2,3 or 5 it will say depending on how many. Channels I frequently watch go to recommended on my homepage 1st thing.

I've been having some issues getting notifications for some people as well. What I've been doing is unsubscribing and then resubcribing instantly, checking the bell notification for all notifications and then it works again. KZread's system is garbage.

The closest former Gander Mountain to me was partially turned into an ALDI store. Ironically, there's an ALDI in the parking lot of the abandoned Super Kmart in Corsicana. I sure hope the Gander Mountain won't be abandoned for a ridiculously long time like the former Super Kmart has been!

Things that are suspended in the air look a lot shorter than they really are. I used to work at a place that sold industrial electrical supplies (the stuff you need to build power lines, in other words). Those cross arms you see atop wooden power poles? They're every bit as long as a man is tall. Most people think they're about 3 or 4 feet long and don't appreciate how big and heavy everything on top of those poles is because from the ground it looks smaller than it really is.

The Gander Mountain by me was converted into two different things actually. One side is an Aldi now, and the other side is a Fitness Club. Always interested me why those two places.

IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, DON'T FUCKING WATCH IT ! OTHERWISE, TAKE YOUR RUDE ASS IMATURE CHILDISH MOUTH SOMEWHERE ELSE ! NOBODY IS GOING TO TALK TO WALLIE AND KAYLA THAT WAY. That would have been a perfect use for a radio controlled car with a light, camera, and a thin rope to pull it back out if needed.
