Back in the day I watched most of these fights on Sports World and Wide World Of Sports. Dude was a warrior. Many times when he was getting the crap beating out of him,he would come back strong to win the Match. He is very underrated. As you can see he can fight and take a punch. 🥊🥊

People will always rant and rave about Arturo Gatti when the topic of greatest action fighter in boxing history comes up but to me this was the man who always popped in my head as first on the list as a boxing fan. Decades later I still go back and rewatch his fights. Inspiring story as well. It just goes to show that if you really commit to making changes for yourself by being brutally honest, working uncompromisingly hard, and refusing to look back and pick up old habits that your history doesn't have to be your destiny! Ended his life still fighting like a champ as well after his ALS diagnosis... one of the guys that I just miss terribly as a lifelong boxing fan.

What an amazing story! Absolutely heart breaking but also very inspiring! I'm not going to put all the blame on his mother either because I'm sure she felt that mathew might actually have a better chance of a better life if he was adopted. The only criticism of his mother was the way she did it. She could've taken him to the church herself so mathew won't grow up without knowing her and full of resentment. I'm glad it worked ou for him and none of us really have any rights to judge his mom. What we would've done if we were in her shoes? We'll never know because we were more fortunate. No judgments because we don't have the rights. What a tough fighter and chin lol. What a true CHAMPION he was! They don't make them like him anymore! We do have the right to judge others. In fact we have an obligation to judge others. That is why we have laws, courts, and prisons. Refusing to judge others just allows behavior such as child abandonment to continue unchecked. This woman was obviously unfit to look after the children and she should have notified CPS that she didn't want the responsibility. Abandonment on the street is never the right choice.

  • @namelesswarrior4760

@@FRLN500 judging someone and calling out someone is 2 different action! If you're judging someone because they're morbidly overweight, the skirt is too short or certain person shouldn't be allowed into certain venues then it is just your preference but you don't have the right to do so! It's the same as someone judging you by saying you're too ugly for your girlfriend or you're too white to listen to hip hop music! How do you like that? To call someone out if their actions is illegal or a threat to you or others then that's fine! Whether the law system finds them guilty or not it's up to the judges whom are trained and educated in every aspect of the law. They are qualified to judge but only in the courts! I love how you can see visable improvment between the 2 johnson fights , from sloopy straight hands that fall down after they hit while his feet are planted , to dancing off both feet floating around johnson while throwing hooks and uppercuts from so many angles

He was a hero of my childhood. I was devastated when he lost to Dwight Braxton (AKA Muhammad Qawi) I had not heard anything about him for decades when I learned he past away 8 years ago. Sad ending to a remarkable life of lows and highs.

I only recently discovered your channel, and find myself very grateful that I have. I think it is a wonderful thing, the amount of respect, admiration, and reserved awe that is shown to these warriors of a bygone era. These men and women put themselves on display, often times giving the public fans who had little else, something to take pride and even refuge in. They all took inhuman amounts of punishment that affected every single pugilist the rest of their lives in one form or another, and not all, but most did so with class rarely seen in today's times. Muhammad Ali, is perhaps the greatest example of the physical damage, and it's life altering effects. A man who at one point was scorned and abandoned by not only the boxing commissions, but his own country as well, for standing up for his beliefs as well as standing against racial superiority. And today he lives on in the hearts and minds of millions worldwide, known almost globally as THE GREATEST. I personally am and always will be a die hard fan of Iron Mike Tyson, who to my eyes pound for pound the best to ever tape up and do the dance. I believe in my heart that he is one of the most tragic examples of a legend, with too much trust who could not keep the wolves at bay from every direction at once. And the wolves took every opportunity that they could find to attack and take what he had battled to earn. I will never believe the most disparaging tale of wrongdoing he was accused of, but he took his admonition and punishment like a CHAMP, and came out swinging. Clawed his way back to the top, bit allowed his inner demons, self doubt, and desire to regain what had been rightfully his, to get the better of him, and ultimately end the career of one of (and to my eyes THE) greatest students of the sweet science. It was criminal the way he was left with nothing in the end, and tragic the way addiction took over his life. But today he has built himself back up, suffered tragic loss with what I consider to be the definition of grace, and become a loving father, husband, role model, and even sometimes mentor to the sport that at one time, gave him everything when he gave his all to the sport.

I am glad I saw this video. I did not know this guy. Mathew Saad Mohammad was a true fighter, right there with one the other greats. Cuts, pain, bruises are just lying vanities in boxing. It's painful to see how fame destroys most sportsmen. It's important to stay humble.

Mathew lSaad Mahammad was one of the greatest light heavyweights in the history of boxing. I saw Mathew fight a few times and I never saw him get tired or about to give up because of fatigue. The man was absolutely a beast in the ring and had the rep to back it up. A great great great fighter and human being.

Much respect on the fact even after he was robbed from "bad investments" of his cash earned from years of boxing landing him in a homeless shelter, he still pulled himself back up, and made helping people his last fight. Cheers to the champ. Such a shame how many of these famous fighters were taken advantage of by greedy money vultures.
