I'm not at an "urban explorer", though I've often been fascinated with the concept. I lived most of my life in the South Hills, so Century III is definitely a memory. Even in the decay I recognize certain things like the "bricks" inside, or the fountain with the blue tiles... closest I've done to urbex was poke around Centralia, PA a couple times, which now is also pretty much nothing.

I've spent most of my life living in the South Hills (recently just turned 40), so Century III is definitely an old memory of mine. It's funny how I recognize things like the interior brickwork or the fountain and its blue tiles. I wasn't a proper mallrat despite the prevalence of that in the 90s (honestly it was always going to be a two-bus-route trip to get to any mall, so I generally didn't) but I still went there on occasion with my parents, or in my 20s with my brothers when I had a driver's license. Honestly the general decay of malls in the US is not surprising to me particularly. Even before they became the phenomenon they are now, I probably haven't been to a mall in a good 10 years. General purpose stores like Walmart and Target replaced the need for several disparate specialty stores, and otherwise I just order everything online, which spares me all the time and gas traveling to a mall and wandering around, possibly not finding what I wanted anyway.

Fiesta mall in Arizona is worse I blame city and county where these malls are more than the owners. They have more call on what happens to these places they should've been ripped down years ago. There's no reason they should be still standing. None of these damn places there, passé anyway ! Most people these days are too busy to go out shopping so staying at home and shopping is ideal. Most people that are out in the malls are people that are bored and don't work so screw them all as we don't need them grow up people your past is over with these. Yes, it's sad but it's reality move on.
@ayrezazu6267

It's private property. The City and County can't do anything about this but take the owners to court and impose fines for letting this become a danger to the community. That would be like you saying the City or County can take anyone's house that is not kept up, they can't, it's private property and on the owner to take care of it. Besides it would cost millions of dollars to tear it down so why should the tax payers in the city or county have to pay for that. The owner needs to either sell it to someone who will do something with it or tear it down. West Mifflin is in a battle with the owners of this property and they are trying to get it condemned. However, the owners of the property will just keep appealing and this will be in the court system for years.

Power STILL ON AFTER 2 ELECTRICAL FIRES!!!
@nationdecay
Жыл бұрын
The fires were electrical. They were set inside of a wall/ceiling in the back of a store near the food court. Not sure why it was 3 alarm because it was mostly just smoke damage. The areas that the fire happened are where I came in at at the start of the video and didn’t have power to them before the fire

Exploring with Brody got charged for coming here
The reason the one half of the mall Does not look like the rest is cause there was a Netflix show filmed there. Mind Hunter I believe.

However, the owners of the property will just keep appealing and this will be in the court system for years.
its not abandoned, its just how places in Pleasant Hills and West Mifflin look !

@@mrpibb2982 Yes they do have better things to do. But it's easier pickings to waste time on youtubers filming a derelict mall, that needs to be buried in slag from steel production. The people the cops should be arresting are the scumbags that currently own this place.
The audio quality is absolutely horrid in this video. The audio quality is so bad that I think that you should take down this video! And reedit it. P. R. O. P. E. R. L. Y. And, then, reupload that video! It might have been great to go there, to this mall, & experience this place, even filming it for your own viewing pleasure. But, from a user's POV, this is utterly pointless! This is video is, at least virtually, unwatchable!
I was just arrested exploring that place. Wow it's crazy in there

It’s because you guys were shooting a weapon and being cocky. It was a perfect case to make an example. Nobody I know who’s been in here has had an issue. If you aren’t going to be respectful of the location don’t bother. It was much more peaceful years ago when people weren’t vandalizing and security wasn’t up everyone’s ass at every location

You aren’t respectful when you go into a building with a bow and arrow and walk around with your friends acting like you are on the set of jackass. Real explorers are respectful of the location and leave without a trace. Also good luck, my channel has been reported to west mifflin about 5 times now and I have the security guard on camera giving verbal permission that he didn’t care if I was in the building. My ass is covered.

@@nationdecay The place is already trash. Shooting an arrow at a stupid decoration is the least of that mall's problems.
