So sad to see it as it is now...I am sure it was a beauty in its day

I can't verify this, but Buchanan may be the "hospital during the war" in which Rudolf Hess was held after his strange flight to England during World War II. He parachuted out of his Messerschmitt, was captured, later tried and sentenced to life in Spandau, where he eventually died at some 90 years old. Now nature is slowly but surely reclaiming what is hers.
