I think they would had kept Jazz but he died from a hemorrhage. It was a birth defect and the staff believe it was reason Jazz's mother abandon him.

@@helenholt1161 Does that mean this isn't about kindness? I think not. Every animal video you see of natural enemies co-existing, tells us, humans, everything we need to know about getting along. If we remove the need to struggle to survive( like money, food, shelter) racism would die out. We are kept at each other's back...wake up. Pay attention to the kindness of animals.

[Giraffes and Belgian Malinois aren't natural enemies by the way. Belgian Malinois are shepherds, they have a natural instinct to take care of the flock (whatever the flock is that they have been assigned to), they are bred that way]

That dogs face must have been such a welcome vision for baby giraffe to find waiting for him when he awoke. This is a very darling story.

An unlikely pair teaches us that we have the same kind of differences. When coming together it is all about compassion. ❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️

This dog and the giraffe have lessons to teach us. It doesn't matter if we are different species or breeds. That our skin is different, or our height, or anything else. What matters is that we are living beings who can learn to love one another. To be the best of friends. To support each other. To share this wonderful world that we all are so fortunate to have. What a lovely story to hear on Christmas.

Just read about Jazz has passed away! It hurts deeply, but I think the short time he was on this earth was surrounded by love and compassion not only from his caretakers but also by Hunter. There was a powerful connection between them.

It is sad that they deliberately left off the ending to this story. Jazz died of brain hemorrhage on DEC 6TH! That is 2 weeks before this fluff story was published. They knew Jazz died. The story is still sweet though as the dog kept vigil with the dying giraffe. There are photos of the dog curled up outside Jazz's stall grieving the loss. In the end the MOTHER giraffe didn't abandon a healthy baby. She was not a bad mother.

@@donaldvanvliet9039 I am not attributing human qualities to an animal. The original posters did that. She did exactly what a wild creature would do with a critically ill offspring. Futile to care for it. Survival dependent on healthy offspring. Better success with next pregnancy producing a healthy calf. So... she was NOT a bad mother.

What a pity man is often the cruellest animal of all!

Hunter just knew the baby needed help & his humans were doing everything they could to save him. Dogs are often used to help a different species infants survive. Rhino calves especially are vulnerable to not having company. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunter has done this before &/or after.

Especially why bonding between two different animals like cat and mouse and bond between human and wild animals is interesting to me, as a child, I thought that bonds between two different animals like cat and mouse and bond between human and wild animals couldn't happen in reality since I saw it mostly first in family friendly animated movies and my parents or others made me think it couldn't happen or was unusual in reality.

Maybe they can be moved to a different rescue that can accommodate the giraffe and still allow his buddy to stay with him. There are elephant rescues where dogs stay with them and sometimes they will form close bonds with a particular dog. Be flexible people 😊🐾🦒🐕

Rats are great pets.

Unfortunately Jazz has died, a few days ago, Nov/Dec 2019. According to the rescue, the Mom knew that there was something wrong and that's why Jazz was abandoned. He apparently had cerebral hemorrhaging. His best friend Hunter was with him till the end, and even spent some days mourning before going to the caretakers for some understanding and affection. If you want to read more, Jazz and Hunter were at the Rhino Orphanage in Johannesburg. Google it, and there's more info. RIP handsome Jazz. On the bright side, and this is why I love all animals, they aren't prejudiced and have no agendas. They intuitively know that WE are ALL fellow brothers and sisters. That's why different species get along with each other. It's so funny that we humans are all the SAME species but look at each other differently over color, religion, economics, intelligence, etc. This is why most animals don't live as long as we do. When they're born they know more in a few months than we do in 20yrs !!! They also know about the "random act of kindness". Too bad we ALL aren't as intelligent and caring as our animals relatives are...maybe one day SOON.

Why don't they just keep Jazz? He doesn't know anything but the very kind and caring people in the refugee who saved his life, and Hunter! Hunter and Jazz should not be separated, they bonded in a way that will destroy them if they separate the animals. Even in rescues, when cats or dogs are bonded, they no longer allow one to go without the other. I realize that Jazz should be out in the wild with other Giraffe's, but there has to be a way to keep these two together without separating them. Just my 2 cents, and trust me, I know the rescuers know better than I, after all, I've never raised a Rino or a Giraffe!

Hyperalimentation is in order. Not just fluids.

No mammal friendships should surprise anybody. When raised from birth together, mammals never become predatory to each other. Humans have projected the idea of enemies onto animals for bad reasons, and it just isn't true that one mammal has a genetic predisposition to "hate" any other mammal.

I’ve always love animals. I’ve always love God’s giraffes.

It is sad but the little giraffe died december 6th... it is a touching story, but they should not posted this since they knew Jazz, the giraffe died two weeks ago. Moms in the wild abbandon their kids if they are not well, his mom felt tjis beautiful baby boy could not survive. It is what it called animal instincr, we may not like it but to them it is life or dead. They are profiting from this story, since they do not tell you that this little giraffe died, december 6th of hemoraging. So please remove this movie since the orphanage went through enough. Sad story which DID NOT END well.

Another video i cant watch because of the script and the presenters annoying voice. Whoevers' decision it is to keep using the same presenters and writers should be sacked. So busy trying to 'tell a story' that the viewer gets annoyed before the actual story. If the actual facts of the story arent heart warming enough already, an overly nassal voice and some high school level of writing will not make it so. So please just get to the story and stop the writers from thinking that they are of screenplay level and FFS get another voice over artist that doesnt sound like peewee hermans big brother
