    Let the haters hate, it's obvious no matter what it is you've come across it surely is not staged!! It's funny to read those guys like they know anything at all about how much work goes into trying to revive one of these old worn out vehicles. Great to see this one somehow make it back to driving (if only of a farm ever again)!! Thanks so much for putting in the time and hard work Chad.

    Somebody was trying to start it while it was locked up and didn’t try to turn it by hand like you did! They ground the ring gear down with the starter without turning it by hand and breaking it loose! The 360 sounds pretty strong Chad!

    That probably happened due to the mices building a nest in the bellhousing. The part where the teeth are rusted was sitting at the bottom and they built a nest there. They pee in their nests and that's what rusted the teeth away.

    Life is finite, but in the case of this old truck she has defied the laws of nature. It warms my heart to see life reborn into this man made machine, and only man can give her life again. It takes more than just man to revive these old machines, it takes character and soul to care enough to see life where others only see death and disappointment. Life is man and man is life, thank you for sharing your life with us and these incredible machines.

    The only difference between a 360 and a 390 is the crank, pistons and rods. A 428 has a larger bore and a 427 is a very special beast with very expensive rotating assembly and are made for high RPM.

  • @MattsRageFitGarage

    @MattsRageFitGarage

    8 ай бұрын

    Yeah, I still laugh at all the people that talk trash on the 360 but praise the 390. The 360 was nothing special, just a run of the mill everyday smog truck engine but I don't think a lot of these people realize a 445 stroker kit drops right into it with no grinding to the block for clearance whatsoever. All the 360 is, is a .050" over 352 in reality. Too bad Ford chose to sink the pistons way down in the hole to reduce compression for emissions instead of having a proper set of pistons that came up to the top of the deck and just use the proper CC dish to obtain desired compression ratio. They would have run a lot better that way.

    This reminds me of a rusty pile of crap I got running one time. It was a 78 with a 302 had been sitting for 35 years when I pulled it out of a holler in Ohio It was left for dead after popping out of gear and rolling into said holler. Lol great video Chad! Keep em' rolling. By the way that black gmc in that tree row needs to be resurrected some time.

    If you ever run into another engine that's locked this badly, you can use unsweetened lemon juice to help get it unlocked. I was told about it by an old mech back in the early 90's and he was in his mid-late 70's then so he was one of the "Old Guys" from back in the day that knew stuff most of us had never heard of - And we all know those guys knew about such things out of necessity in their own time of doing things. It MUST be pure, 100% unsweetened lemon juice or it will not work because if it has anything else in it, that ruins the chemical composition of it so it. It works due to the citric acid content of the juice in that citric acid attacks rust but won't harm any good metal that's present but again it must be 100% pure unsweetened lemon juice to work. In my case I used it not long ago to unlock an engine in a 1930 Model A that had sat for 40 years and yes - It was locked tight. The owner and the shop working on it coudn't get it freed up but I offered to do it when I asked the shop owner what was going on with it and by the next day I had it freed up and even test ran it later that day. All I did was I filled/flooded the cylinders with the juice and let it sit overnight, then the next morning I poured some oil in , let that soak in for a few minutes and rocked the car while it was in high gear and it broke loose without too much trouble. For really bad cases it may take an extra night to really work but it will. You (Or anyone) can test this sometime by simply finding something rusted such as a nut and bolt (Or really anything) that's rusty and submerge it in the juice overnight. The next day you'll literally be able to wipe the rust off with a paper towel so be sure to try it some time and see for yourself. It just works.

    Your ASE Master Technician fan here again. Fantastic video! Made my day. Now, I am going to try and locate and replace the cam position sensor on a 2020 XT4 Cadillac.

    I was thinking that maybe the belts and or the alternator or something else up front was stuck and when removed , you were able to break it loose and turn it over easier. Being its a Ford it should start if its all there.
