Abandoned 1950 Dodge pilothouse truck will it start and drive?
Bought this 1950 Dodge Pilothouse truck off a buddy of mine that's he bought and was abandoned out on an old farm. Unknown how many years it's been since the truck was last driven.

I can't help myself but everytime I see old Vehicles like this I think back to the day when it was brand new and the person that bought it was all happy and excited that they had themselves a brand new vehicle. Showing it off to friends and family.
I thoroughly enjoyed your tenacity in getting that old beauty running & driving again. Thanks for taking the 3 - 4 days working on this. She doesn't deserve the scrap yard.
I wish I could just come hang out with this guy and listen to his stories and anything he might be willing to teach. Honestly, dude is low key a master of his trade
It's very satisfying to hear them running again after so many years of not performing. Hanging in there is one of your best traits. She sounds good.
Just one word. "TENACIOUS"! Who'd have thunk it would ever run and actually drive again........ All of my vehicles were running perfectly when I parked them in the shed some 40 years ago but it has been a spell.

I was laughing my ass off. It was a killer when it finally caught and made smoke as thick as fog. Kids, don't try this at home. Flat heads never die. That was fun. I'm glad you saved this old Dodge from being scraped, and Pablo was smart to get scarce (he looks like he'd been rolling in the mud). Thanks Brent. 👍😎🍺🕵🏾♂️🎸🎵👽🧙🏼♂️🥂

A heads up for you Larry. There's an newer low mileage 5.7L hemi, auto trans, and transfer case listed in Kijiji Timmins or was it Facebook Marketplace for $1000. I had dreams of plugging it into Rat Rod Fargo but the guy wants a fortune for it and living on CPP&OAS doesn't allow for fun at that level. Or the guy with the Fargo also has a 5.9L cammed and Edelbrock intake and carb, price unknown. Hope this might help your search.
Man that is a cool old dodge! The 2 green clearance lights on the top of the cab are flat out cool!!! Thanks for sharing never a disappointment on your channel!
Pilothouse has now become my favorite! Tried to find a 5 window, had to build my own. With ship portholes. They look awesome. My wife loves em.
Always good to see an old truck being saved. Especially a Dodge. 👌
Going back through your older videos and found this classic today. Loved the “we don’t wanna have a Mortske moment” reference when you were hammering the valves. 🤣 Good stuff this.
That same spark tester i brought a 6 pack from Princess auto around 15 years ago. Like you i only have one or two of them now LOL!!!! Wish they would get them again! they where so GREAT!!!!

This was a fun feature length movie, glad you stuck it out cuz I knew you were so close... it's always a balance needing 3 hands to work the starter, open the throttle, bottle feeding, etc.
I had a 1952 Dodge panel in 1972, I was 20. Got it for $75 in Bellingham and drove it to Santa Barbara (1200 mi.). I put a 327 & automatic, out of a wrecked Vett. in it. Hippied-up the inside 8-track, shag carpet, paneling, etc... Painted it bronze, chrome side pipes under running boards, chrome rims w/ baby moons, and flames on the fenders. After I got married sold it for $1600. Wish I still had it. Loved your video - I could talk about my Dodge all day.
That’s your best engine start for long time
Awesome vid. Love the fact that you are saving these old cars and trucks from being recycled into today’s junk.
“Ignore everything and find a battery”. That’s great!! Also exactly where I woulda started. Hit it with 12 volts and see what happens. Lol
I'm so amazing to see your mechanic knowledge, and enjoy watching you doing a fantastic work, one thing I really admire you, is you are so politely explained the mechanism and the problems ahead of you time, and you also don't uses swear words during your operation, it's so smooth hearings when I listened to your explanation and very easy to understand, I would like to wish you all the best and continue showing your wonderful knowledgement, Thank you Sir.

Well, my friend, I am so glad you went through to the end on this one and got that old Dodge running, driving, moving, etc. I learned a lot watching you work on the motor, heads, and other stuff and used the process of elimination of what the problem is from front to back. I don't want to buy that truck! Even so, this was one of the best "will it run" videos I've seen. I think everyone else on the web would have quit after the first head-off clean-up left us disappointed. Then when the head went back on the second time and still no joy in Mudville I was sure you'd quit can't-win-'em-all-style. But no, you stayed with it beyond all reason. I don't know why you did that either, but the fight was good for more than one LOL. Thanks.
