Album is wack. It sounds like chemotherapy with drums. Its too flat. The beats are wack and nothing sticks out. Somehow its stil, better than These Days but still not up to Control System or Long Term standards. If Ab-Soul hadnt raised the bar so high for his work in the past, I'd be satisfied with this drugged up sedated trash he took two years to put out. After you listen to The End Is Near, Enter The Void, his verse on 3rd Eye and shit like that you just can't accept the weak stuff he's putting out now.

You know how you expose the devil, acknowledge that he exists. Hip-hop has been so focused on hype, lit, beats and shooting, drugs and killings that the devil has made himself at home in the black community. Soul is calling him out of his hiding place and is trying to get other people to see how present the devil is. even though that man he referenced was a satanic worshiper, he still acknowledged God as righteous and holy.

People are so scary, he said he recognized his influence on music, literature, just art in general, and that he appreciated those two particular quotes, and used it to help shape the concept of the album. Just because you find some light in the dark, doesn't mean you love the dark. You can find inspiration from damn near any source.

@@michaelvenezia9673 try to examine yourself more thoroughly, you assume dishonestly why bother asking? Do you have your own secrets? between yourself or with others? it's not an offense to have secrets in and of itself. So what exactly has offended you? don't worry about things behind closed doors if they have no impact on you, it's a waste of time. if you feel they do impact you and take issue with this work out what you can do to intervene and then do so, if nothing can be done about this issue specifically build yourself up in other ways so you can be better prepared for it. What you're doing right now is the equivalent to spreading fear and whining. I used to do it too, it feels justifiable because people do act out with malice but most of the time someone else screws you over it's negligence/incompetence so those feeling are not only misplaced but impractical, even if your complaints are fully justified and all your presumptions are correct down to a t, what does that do to actually fix the problem? Nothing? Maybe focus on something that can.

The bible said: "For the whole law is fulfilled in this command; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Aleister Crowley said: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law. Love under will." In other words, Crowley flipped Christian teaching upside down by saying that love should correspond to your personal will. This is the opposite of what the bible says in that your personal will should correspond to love. Very important to note this, as the bible says God is love, there is no love without God, describes the characteristics of love. ("Love is patient, love is kind,..." etc..) Aleister Crowley wrote of his hatred for Christ & he had his goals on this earth to destroy God. That is why so many of these musicians & figures look up to him. I enjoy a lot of the music, I'm just sharing the facts.

I respect the fact that Ab looks at multiple religions from a particularly analytical perspective. As a Christian, I can say that a lot of people wouldn't even look at the documentations of other religions, and it's a shame because it just makes them ignorant. Ab Soul is a perfect example that you can look at the documents of religions outside of your own beliefs, and can still stand firm in your beliefs.

Willy Beegle. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation-since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:5‭-‬17 NIV Im not a fan of NIV version but it simplifies it.
