AB Digital Manual entry on a Siemens VDO 1.4 (HOW TO)
GMT is the same as UTC........This is the correct method of inputting a manual entry in a Siemens 1.4 VDO Tacho.
The example shown is of a driver having a rest period between his shifts!

Thank you. This has helped me a lot. Clear and concise. I drive infrequently, so I always spend 2 minutes with this beforehand.
Clearest instructions yet, cheers mate.
Best instructions I’ve found, cheers!
Wow ! Perfect clip mate ! Been struggling on my first day grabbing info from whoever I could! This is the most complete Tacho instructional! Thanks a million !
Nice clear instructions, thank you for the video!
Clear and precise instructions, I've just had a serious issue with M E and needed a refresher, very rarely use it but you've answered my question and I can see my mistake, hopefully they'll cancel my infringement. Thanks.
Had my first shift yesterday, still managed to make a 'James Hunt' of the manual entry, but that was just down to me. Of all the videos on this, you are the only one basically explaining what the tacho is asking you to put in-i.e what have you been doing since you clocked on etc. Thanks again

Hope it helped.
it's ok till he books 2 months since last use as a rest period, i.e. break The ? mark mode should be used for any periods over 24 hours between shifts indicating that the driver has been involved in other activity's as well as rest. That's why the ? mode is only available during manual entry function and why it was added in the 1.4 model.
Thanks

I drive a Tug as I’m a Shunter. How do I put breaks in on doing a manual entry ??
Pressing things far to fast to follow and how do i put a manual entry in for the day before that i did not drive but did a course
Great clip there" But i noticed that at the start the unit was on other work before you had put your card in"! Was this an error from the driver before,?
I’ve just started driving on an part time basis, there can be large gaps between my shifts, but I’m doing my day job in that time, it’s not a driving job, so would I still just put is as a rest period? Or should I put other work?

Sorry for the late reply. I would suggest using the ? on the digital Tacho facilty and keep a manual record as proof of your working time and your Rest period.

I dont need to record manually on digi card if im using analogue charts on some work days do I ? Rests are shown between each shift wether its digi or anologue
So after 12.10.16 next time you used a card was almost two months later 01.12.16 so does it mean the card wasn’t used for about two months.

@@driverassessor1863 in this case correct. No HGV driving was undertaken since 12.10.16
yet another video not using the '?'. Unknown time. to denote daily or weekly rest. Be careful you're gonna be used as 'gospel'when drivers get caught for not using the daily/weekly rest symbol. the Bed symbol is for use during your working day, denoting your break periods. Ex CPC Trainer
