RIP Aaron. This kid was brilliant. Definitely a huge threat to the scummy and corrupt system that rules over present day society. People SHOULD take notice and read the 2 books he mentions. I did...long time ago.

...I just saw the documentary about Aaron, rest in peace, my heart is broken. Everyone who knows of Aaron should not allow his dream to die. Aaron laid the foundations, he showed us we can fight back. It's up to us now, regardless of the country you live in, it's up to us to fight injustice.

This young man was so far ahead of his time! The two books he mentions he read just out of high school. Incredible! I worked in large corporate entities for 23 years and know from first hand experience that "Moral Mazes" hits the nail on the head. And, Noam Chomsky? No one better can describe the hypocracy of America in greater detail. My young Aaron rest in peace.

Voltaire: "Announcing truths, proving something useful to men is a sure recipe for being persecuted." Before watching the documentary 'The Internet's Own Boy' tonight, I did not know who Aaron Swartz was. Now that I do, I will never forget him. Some people are born to make a difference. Clearly, Aaron was one of those people. He still is, and always will be. Requiescat In Pace, Aaron ... Rest In Peace.

Also just watched the documentary and never really took notice of him before. I remember the incident itself (the "theft") and not understanding why they wanted to punish him for it, but didn't really follow. I really should have. That guy was amazingly impressive. It's really worth to further listen to what he said throughout his unfortunately short life. So much potential lost. I think he was destined for more, that's what makes it so...sad in so many ways. But also reminds me on this: "We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world."

The best thing we can do is take up his call and become proactive to take responsible action to make things more progressive in our country. His point about the Senate and Congress is spot on, it's a game you can only play if you pay if that is a requirement then true representation for all of us is a farce. I think the documents he was downloading should be accessible by all freely.

It is truly a loss, but not such a significant loss that any movement for change will abate. I imagine if Aaron were here he would tell everyone to let this be an example of the issues in our society. We must intelligently discuss and attempt to solve these problems. Aaron was truly inspiring, and this loss even more so. We will strive for progress and change for our ancestors, our contemporaries, and our descendants.

When you watch this video, it becomes cogently clear why Aaron killed himself. It was because in spite of his convictions, he was smart enough to realize that change really isn't possible. You may slow the forces of entropy organic or intellectual, but you can never stop it.
