Before every deployment I wrote one of these letters. I'm blessed that no one ever got to read them. For those who had to read a letter or had to receive the message, I thank you for your gift because every one of my fallen brothers and sisters were just that, a gift to secure freedom.

Roger that in my 20 years of service I have 15 letters that I wrote especially when I thought it was going to be my last. While waiting to be cleared for my medical discharge I volunteered for funeral service duty. I am humbled by the sacrifices of our military families to love and support their soldiers, marines, sailors airmen, coast guard and merchant marines! Here to those of us who made it home to remember those who didn’t. To all patriots you are going to have to help us out this time! BECAUSE THIS IS NOT WHAT THIS COUNTRY IS SUPPOSED TO BE NOR IS IT GOING TO BE IF WE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO ABOUT! It’s time to fight back and save our country!

Kneeling is an an acceptable form of dissension which is the highest form of patriotism. Mandatory patriotism is called fascism and or communism if you don’t like free-speech and living in America why don’t you move to a communist country where patriotism is mandatory like Russia or China or STFU. I get the honor to be one of the many service members to fold a flag for those who have departed. To give this symbol of freedom to a loved one of a fellow fallen brother or sister feels sacred to me. This song captures many of my thoughts for those who gave all to serve this great nation. Each and every sacrifice for freedom is sacred, and we remember them. We also remember the ones that are left to carry the torch of freedom and their memory to our grave. You're never forgotten.

As someone who gave 20 years of his life in the service of this country, I couldn't be more proud of Aaron Lewis. The man starts his show with the Pledge of Allegiance, and makes it known very clearly where his allegiance lies. What a great American, and what a champion of everyone who carries the Flag of this Nation with them into closest place to hell on Earth.

My brother died of cancer in a VA hospice. They treated well. I owe those nurses for the care they gave him. When he passed, they pushed him through the hall. They rang a bell. Everyone, doctor, nurse, and patient alike stopped to salute. Patients, that were able, came and lined the hallway. It was beautiful and serene. It gutted me. He was my favorite person in the world. RIP Kenneth Wayne Bavis. I love you my big brother and my best friend.

Aaron as a retire Marine combat veteran of over 30 years this song truly hits home with me. I have seen too many of my brothers and sisters never come home. Have seen the way that people treated veterans when they came home from Vietnam to the way they were treated after desert storm till now. Anyone who has worn the uniform should be treated proudly by those that they have protected, and kept safe. The men and women who do this are proud of their Flag, their country, and for what it stands for. If not for these men and women in uniform there would be no freedoms, no rights, all would be lost. Freedom is never free but it's paid for in the pain and blood of those who serve this country. Till this day I would still fight and if need be die to keep this country free even as an old man. I took an oath and it had no end date.

😥 one of the hardest things I ever had to do was sit down and write one of these letters. There really isn't anything that compares emotionally to writing your goodbyes down to your family. Telling your mom and dad that you hope you've made them proud. Asking for their forgiveness. Telling your son that you will always be there, and to not give up and to remember the things he's been taught as to what it means to be a man. Absolutely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Not as hard as promising my brother that I'll bring his letter home to his wife, and hold her as she completely breaks down. There is no strength a man can have that can keep him from breaking down with her, while she holds their babies in her arms, crying out that daddy loves them, but won't be coming home. That, that was the hardest thing ever. 😭😭😭

Unless you've served it's hard to know the rigors of what all of those who have. Family members' who have lost service members, Military spouses, and children know all too well..

When I had seen you You were shining like a diamond in that dress We were young and in love and reckless We were just two kids When I went and signed my name Now here I am Just a few months later coming home to you I'm flying with my brothers yeah we fought real hard We're all packed up and headed home And if you are reading this there'll come a time real soon When family, friends and flowers fill the room And two men with starched white gloves Fold the colors 'til they touch It's probably more than I deserve But I'm proud to get this much Sending all the love I ever had Inside this folded flag Now look at you You're roundin' out but babe you wear it well A little boy or girl it's still too soon to tell Wish I could be there now to hold you both And if you are reading this you probably about to cry Running through your head a questions why Has two men with starch white gloves Fold the colors 'til they touch It's probably more than I deserve But I'm proud to get this much Sending all the love I ever had Inside this folded flag It will sit here on the mantle For many years to come And every time you pass it by I hope you feel my love Two men with starch white gloves Fold the colors 'til they touch Probably more than I deserve But I'm proud to get this much I'm sending all the love I ever had Inside this folded flag Sending all the love I ever had Inside this folded flag

Never liked any country songs my entire life, but saw Aaron Lewis live in Bethlehem, Pa and have been listening to his country ever since. This song hits home. Our family has fought or fought and died in every war and armed conflict since WW1 to current.

My dad was in the military for 10 years, ha was goon in and out for almost 8 years, and having to just in him hurts me, he missed out almost half of my life, he was out since I was four in 01’-02’ due to the Bush parade in the middle-east! But now I’m 21, having to have a baby that he waited for is amazing, I just hope that he does well with my brother
