Aaron Lewis - Country Boy Lyrics:
Now, I grew up down an old dirt road in a town you wouldn't know
My pop's picked the place up for fifteen hundred bucks back in 1964
My grandfather was a drinker, back in the day, he put him down
But a war is known to change a man and the whiskey's known to change a man, but
That's not me
I rarely drink from the bottle but I'll smoke a little weed
I still live in the sticks where you wouldn't go
In a town of twelve hundred off an old dirt road
And a country boy is all I'll ever be
Now, its been twelve years since I sold my soul to the devil in L.A.
He said sign your name here on the dotted line and your songs, they all will play
He set up shop on Sunset, he put me up at the Marquee
He said "you want to sell a million records boy, you better listen to me" He said "change your style, whiten your smile, you can lose a couple of pounds
If you want to live this life, you better lose that wife, do you need your friends around?"
And I said, no, that's not me
Cause the biggest things in life are your friends and family
And I like my jeans and my old t-shirts
And a couple extra pounds never really hurt
'Cause a country boy is all I'll ever be
'Cause Hank taught me just how to stay alive
You'll never catch me out the house without my .9 or .45
I got a big orange tractor and a diesel truck
And my idea of heaven is chasing whitetail bucks
And as a country boy, I know I can survive
Now, two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel
One is the colors that fly high and proud, the red, the white, the blue
The other one's got a rattlesnake with a simple statement made
"Don't Tread On Me" is what is says and I'll take that to my grave
Because this is me
I'm proud to be American and strong in my beliefs
And I've said it before but I'll say it again
'Cause I've never needed government to hold my hand
And I've said it before but I'll say it again
'Cause my family's always fought and died to save this land
And a country boy is all I'll ever be

America needs to listen to this song again... They are losing sight of what's important... God bless America.
In my opinion, not many artists can make the transition from rock to country (for example Steven Tyler's attempt), but Aaron Lewis was obviously a country boy at heart. Amazing.

Hi from Ireland, it sure does. The America that's beautiful, the way it use to be. I'd love to live in that town off an old dirt road, own my own home. And an old chevy truck to bring the dogs off maybe grow m, NO grow some of my own food, little extra to barter with. Buy and sell a couple cars n trucks till you have enough money to buy a used winnebago ( is that what their called ) clean with a great solid engine. Anytime you you want you'd go to any state you want, Montana, wyoming and on. Those days are still around and if your reading this comment, have the money always wanted to go with your wife, a son or grandson, friends or even by yourself. That's 100 % FREEDOM. Over here in Ireland you needat least 180 thousand EUROS, about 225 in dollars just to buy a 2 bedroom, house. If it's in Dublin. Double that. America has almost everything you need to see. You can drive fron Canada right down through America, on to South America's. If I was in that position and owned my own home, had some money, even chip in with a friend if you needed to, I'd say myself and herself are leaving in one month. Some of them winabegos have two rooms in them. Ild be gone. We are all living for what?? To pay back a bank. They charge people to bank with them now. Never leave your money in a bank. Look into metals, and rent a lock box in a bank that's impossible to Rob. Buy gold bars, silver, stamps etc. The price just goes up, not much but learn abot rare coins etc. Not only do you learn stuff, you make money. Even art, nit the big flea markets. After a year on youthube you'll have a good bearing on what's what. ( you could even look up the big flea market's and put it into your trip( holiday )and get a free holiday out of it. Anyway, I know what yous are thinking !! Why don't you do it, well went down the wrong Rd, like millions of others. At the moment I'm trying to detox off methadone and valium etc. Haven't used H in 9 years ha! Ha! Liquid H. This Thursday I'm going into my doctor and getting off it .FACT it should take between four and a half, to 5 and a month's. Actions speak louder than words. Some day I'll have my own home, and hotel on four wheels and i might beep my way across to yas. Peace. If your reading this ,stay cool. America is going to change SUPER fast. They want them guns back. Not to keep yous safe, it's so the powers that be can turn it into a COMPLETE police state. Adios 🍀🍀🍀🍀
