Please get Aaron on Drumeo!

This dude grew up with no real technique yet he has been one of the most influential drummers in the rock scene. Heavy hitting and just raw. Rock on Aaron! 👊

Aaron is probably one of my personal favourite drummers within the rock scene, and has probably had more impact in the way I play with my own band including the singing and playing. I’ll always have respect for this dude and everything he’s done🤟🏻

I'm lucky that I came across Underoath when i was a teen. Made me realized what i wanted to become, and made me work on my drums. Now several years later i earn my living as a drummer. Got the chance to see them in Paris for their Rebirth Tour and to meet him and tell him my story. Thanks Aaron, Thanks Underoath, you will always be my favorite band. Thanks DRUMEO !

Finally! Now get him in studio!! (once Covid is over LOL)

Underoath is the band which made me love hard music. so glad they made a reunion after a long break

They're only chasing safety was the first CD I owned when I was 11 and I wanted to be just like Aaron. It's what got me started on my drum journey and now I'm a Drumeo edge member and loving it

AAAAAAHH! I've watched a majority of Aaron's interviews, lessons, and live drum cams from Underoath and Paramore---and now it's made my day to see Aaron FINALLY featured on Drumeo. He's been one of my biggest influences since I discovered Underoath from a Luke Holland cover in 2012 (when they broke up, conveniently.). Aaron is definitely the reason why I knew how to do a 5:4 polyrhythm in high school (from the ending of "Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear"), without actually knowing what it was in name LOL.

Aaron Gillespie is a smasher, well really inspired and started playing and uploading again, hats off drumeo 🍾

That’s really awesome that people are still hearing my favorite band for the first time. Seeing that kid find them out from their most recent work throws me off initially but makes me realize that they’re still killing it. I’ve been following underoath for so long, they’re basically to me what nirvana was to Aaron. Will always stay number one for me and influenced a bit of my own drumming as well over the years.

Love his point about drummers with character and totally agree. Technicality and complexity is awesome too but sometimes it’s just as cool to hear drummers who are a little more simplistic but super memorable. Aaron Gillespie, Josh Eppard, Abe Cunningham, Lars Ulrich, John Bonham etc - guys who write fantastic, catchy drum parts that service the songs without being some crazy, complicated thing just to be flashy. It’s intelligent musicianship.

Saw him with Paramore in Sao Paulo once. Fucking sick drumming. He rocks very hard. Loved it!

Sick video! He's the man, probably my favourite drummer of all time, and one of my favourite songwriters. Man is a legend!

I love this video series! I found The Almost on a christian rock radio station more than 10 years ago, then learned about Aaron, then learned about Underoath, and I've admired Aaron ever since. Such an awesome drummer, singer, and a cool person. I don't know how he can play crazy drums and sing at the same time on tempo. Insane! Drumeo, PLEASE get Aaron in the studio once this virus blows over!

@@christopherhinnefeld6189 Hey man, sorry for the super late reply. KZread didn't notify me about your comment. I think the first song I heard from The Almost was "Southern Weather". I think I still have that cd album somewhere in my room too. Great album. My favorite track is "Amazing, Because It Is". I LOVED how they remixed the lyrics to "Amazing Grace" in that song. The first time I heard it I was teary eyed, no joke man, the song hit me like a ton of bricks. Aaron has a unique voice and it's so cool we get to hear him as the main vocalist for The Almost. I wish I got to see them perform live in person, but I don't think they ever came to Hawaii. BUT! Thank the Lord up above, because Underoath blessed Hawaii with their presence awhile back and I got to see them kill the set in person! I used to listen to Effect Radio years back, which somehow got broadcasted all the to Hawaii. Because of that awesome radio station I was introduced to a lot of amazing rock bands. Heck, I didn't even know who Olivia The Band was until that point, and we lived on the same island haha.

Very cool dude down to earth great band love their music he should take Neil Pearts advice on touring never be board, read , cycle through the city's you visit, use that massive amount of down time of touring and turn it into up time , Neil said he never allowed himself to become board he immediately took action and stayed active

I had edited it that way because the only live audio I had was on my crappy Sony! So I kept the live intro then switched to the track. Hope you dig the episode!

Good to know! There are 6 more episodes. They are all around 10-15 minutes long but maybe I’ll try to make them a bit longer for the next season. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Yeah, I liked Aaron and under oath a lot back when they professed to be a Christian band. Really sad to see they gave all that up probably because of what some pious Pharisee said. Hope a miracle happens and someday they come to Christ for real. Sad they chose a path I couldn’t follow. Miss you guys.

This guy is really average, hard hitter yes, but no groove or anything, his band has good songs but his drumming is not really good.

No Groove? Then you definitely haven't heard enough of his stuff. Aaron even agrees that he isn't great technically but his heart and passion for drums really comes out live. Oh and he also sings and plays so why make things complex? I wanna hear you sing and play drums at the same time live with no metronome;)
