Everything she said is true. It must have been very hard for her to be so open about this. No one ever wants to think their parents did something bad. But she’s right. Their parents failed all those kids and they didn’t have the tools. Hoping Angel and the rest of her living siblings can break the cycle for their kids

After learning of BJ's recent death it really makes you realizing that addiction issues can literally annihilate entire families. The Carter Family story is so tragic. It is also no coincidence that her and Nick were the only two siblings who sought counseling and help. Now, they are the last two of five siblings remaining alive. It's just so heartbreaking! 💔

Angel should start a podcast. She understands so many things on such a deep and inherent level. I'm so glad I happened to see this. This would make Aaron so happy 🙏

I’m an EMDR trauma therapist and I haven’t ever commented like this before but I just wanted to encourage you to reach out to find a therapist. Recovery cannot be dependent on willpower because EVERYONE will run out of willpower at some point. Recovery requires healing from the pain you were mitigating with substances. Through true healing, you will find freedom. Freedom cannot be taken from you and is not reliant on your strength and willpower so freedom is the way to a forever recovery. I’m biased and think that EMDR coupled with somatic based trauma therapy is the way to heal and find freedom but any support from a licensed therapist to help you start to heal is a BEAUTIFUL way to honor yourself and your recovery. I know it takes courage to find a therapist and sometimes it takes a while to find a therapist who is a good fit for you but you’ve already done something much harder that takes WAY more courage when you began your recovery so you can absolutely do this too. 💛💛💛 *edited for autocorrect issues😂

Some people truly think he should have hated him and the truth is he never did. If anything Nick has alot of hurt because he now knows Aaron apologized for everything. Those two were supposed to make amends and that says a lot. Addiction can hurt the people that love you the most. I believe Angel and Nick loved him more then their own parents.

I was so sad to hear about Leslies death. And following Aaron since he was as old as my own daughter is today I was completely heartbroken when he passed, because no matter how far down the road he was I hoped that he would turn his life around. I know your siblings would be proud over you Angel! I know for sure I am. Thank you for spreading the word of On our sleeve. Love: Maria, diehard Swedish Backstreet boys fan since 1996.

I currently battle my mental health struggles also especially with friends, and I’m taking one day at a time cause it’s been really rough dealing with trauma and certain situations. I am so glad and so proud of Angel Carter Conrad that is helping the stigma with children’s mental health and through On Our Sleeves which I attended the benefit concert in January of this year along with meeting Angel at the benefit show , I had the fortunate chance to meet Aaron many times and he was so kind to me when I got to hang out with him. I will always keep Aaron in my heart ❤️ forever ♾️ he is my sagittarius guardian angel 👼 😢 love you AC , ❤ leanne

This takes real courage to speak up about what happened but it needs to be told by the right person. Its nice to know Nick was able to afford counseling for his siblings and she took the opportunity to get proper help and allow herself to break a generational curse and that is good on her. It does break my heart that Nick and his sister chose to not get help like they should have but it is what it is sometimes.

On reflection since Aaron’s passing I became aware that Aaron was carrying on as per usual putting on a great tour (Jukebox Tour 2003) Right in the midst of his parents divorce. I feel so bad for that cheery and kind 15 year old Aaron who I met at the time. He was not given any time to sit with his emotions of the divorce since being so busy on tour and probably wasn’t even offered therapy by his parents either. I believe this would of been a crucial point in helping his mental health. Especially when he became introduced to drugs at that exact age.

That was the last tour I saw from Aaron. I just turned 15 and about to start high school. When aaron said he grew up touring, I totally believe that. That kid was the one who I saw the most in concert growing up. Tour after tour after tour after tour! Almost all year long! I can understand where he got his trauma from. It's a scary world out there in Hollywood.

I can relate to this on so many levels. I have been struggling with mental health for a huge part of my life myself, so much of the childhood trauma so many of us go through can be prevented with the right care in place. No family is perfect, but it is so hard to come out of it when you're an adult. It is a battle every single day and as a society we have the responsibility to look out for one another. I am glad it is more talked about, but it is still considered taboo. You gotta be the strong one willing to break a generational toxic cycle. I salute Angel for taking that burden and I am sure Aaron is hella proud of who she is ❤

This was so hard to watch. Having loved the carters since childhood and also struggling with my own trauma watching them I felt closer because I knew what that dysfunction felt like, and Aaron just was so sincere in his struggles. You saw him even when he wasn’t showing you his truth. Just knowing how out of the media Angel stayed… but at the end.. angel wasn’t there… nobody was… and I think that’s the true tragedy with Aaron. That at the end of the day he was always alone. He never had Nicks seniority and success but he was famous enough that he got a taste of it at 12. Just will really screw a person up. I know every word to Aaron’s Party. And I cried watching Nick sing I need you tonight. Love to this family, so so much love. Especially now they lost another sibling. 😢

I’m a strong supporter for children’s mental health awarness. My 12 year old son was diagnosed at an early age with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (similar to bipolar disorder), depression and anxiety, hearing your child tell you that they don’t want to live anymore is the hardest thing ever. As a result of everything I’ve been through with him I developed severe anxiety and depression.

What Aaron needed was "unconditional" love even more so when he was having such a hard time. Aaron struggled with not having his family... along with constant harassment daily online. Which I felt was done on purpose. A lot of gaslighting and projection to push Aaron over the edge. It was done in mass formation. People set up social media pages just to taunt and harass Aaron. It was so obvious. Aaron knew it... and we all knew it. Those that were around know exactly what Aaron's daily life was life. In order for people to make it through trying times... they need a super strong support system. The honest truth is he did not have that. Think about Aaron's life... he gave his all. He gave his childhood. Then abandoned by the ones he needed. When someone is left all alone to suffer with any mental issues they may be struggling with... they will only get worse if they feel abandoned and unloved. This is why Aaron was so open with his branding LOVE. Like I said... All he wanted was to be loved and unconditionally. There were many triggers thrown at him daily... if you were around you knew that. Please anyone reading this - if you know someone suffering mentally or with addiction or depression don't abandon them for your sanity... stay there for theirs. You may be the one thing keeping them there. Miss and LOVE you Aaron. You should still be here. We know you are spiritually. You said you would NEVER leave us. I know this was not your choosing.

This was a raw and honest interview; she touched on hard-hitting facts about addiction. I genuinely hope Angel or Nick can gain custody of Aaron's son. They tried to help their brother with addiction, who refused treatment, but they could raise Prince and provide him the stability that Aaron wasn't given as a child. I don't think Melanie is a fit mother!
