Okay but what I love so much about this animation is the hints of lams (Hamilton/Laurens) in this. AyChristeneGames, just so you know, historically there's actually evidence that Hamilton may have been bisexual and in love with his best friend, John Laurens. The letters that he wrote him are very sweet. The Musical doesn't really ever bring this topic up, but Hamilton and Laurens are still very close throughout the plot.

He was a 19 year old French aristocrat that served in Washington’s army. He wanted a career in military and believed in the American cause. He was known as the soldiers friend after he paid for the troops clothing out of his own money. Washington referred to him as “son”. He convinced the king of France to sent guns, ships and soldiers to America (As said in Guns & Ships.) Well, My Shot is the "I want- song" of the musical, where the protagonist usually makes his goals clear to the audience. So of course Lin worked on it until it was perfect.

You missed the part where, when John Laurens is talking, Alex is in the background blushing and going "My god...N I C E." So the short story here is that Hamilton, while also marrying Eliza, Sexting with Angelica and screwing Maria Reynolds, had another affair that no one ever knew about: His best (boy)friend John Laurens. Long story: Read those letters they sent eachother, they are absolutely beautiful and very, very gay. Many historians dub Laurens as the most important relationship in Hamilton's life, and when John (historical spoiler?) died, Hamilton never again let anybody get close to him. It's beautiful but also incredibly sad...
