Aaron Blaise Studio Tour
Aaron Blaise gives us a tour of his super efficient art studio. This small room is where he does his giant charcoal animal portraits, youtube livestreams, and makes his animation courses. In this vlog you’ll get to see some more of Aaron’s drawings, the animation desk he bought from Disney, his impressive collection of animal skulls, and his digital drawing setup. What a great quote about his grandkids : “They’re still at the age where they love to draw, either kids grow out of it, or they don’t like we”
15:27 When he said “that was just a crappy drawing” and tossed aside carelessly,what appeared to me to be a masterpiece. 😭
When both said "Lion around" it shows that both are Dads saying Dad jokes.

One thing ive noticed about animators, is that their lines are so confident.
@eeveemakeralibi

I think it's because they don't think of them as lines, but as movements

That's cuz they learned gesture and got good at it.

More than anything else, confident straight lines come from deliberately trained muscle memory - e.g. an exercise you can do is draw two points, “ghost” the line a few times before you mark the paper, then connect them in one purposeful stroke. I would recommend reading Scott Robertson’s How to Draw or if you don’t want to shell out the money, check out Moderndayjames and his perspective basics vids. Good luck!

All the artists are uniquely different and lovable... Thanks for these videos Proko
Thank you mr Proko and Aaron Blaise for sharing this! This is legendary and very inspiring! Keep on inspiring and keep sharing. Love both of your artworks. Absolutely inspiring!
I've heard Aaron's story on the Bancroft Brothers Animation Podcast and he truly seems like one of the nicest guys in the biz. Always happy to see more of him.
I always watching aaron blaise. Thanks proko you introduced him to me.
15 hours only for that leopard? My god. The mastery of craft is real!
Thanks Proko for doing this interview and the studio tour. I love Aaron Blaise. I am taking his character design course right now, it's amazing. I painted window splashes/ storefront signs for the past 42 years. My splashes have a heavy character design influence so I am always trying to improve my skills in that arena. Although I recently retired from commercial work I still teach on youtube and do a weekly video on how to paint characters for window paintings. I really enjoy it and I have about 1000 videos on the subject on my channel. I am turning 64 soon but feel like I am just really getting into drawing! ha! I can never learn enough. I have watched dozens of your videos as well, so informative and entertaining.
Oh my gosh!!! I would love to sit in there and admire all those drawings and books!!! So lucky!!!
Aaron is awesome. Thanks for bringing him into your group

This seems like a very intresting man, I like it! Also Brother bear is one of my favoritedisney movies, no joke.
Really enjoy the visit to Aaron Blaise's studio. I wanted him to explain his drawing board; was that a light box or did that round thing turn? I worked for Walt Disney World in Florida from Construction to opening. I was in the purchasing department, buying everything from construction materials to art supplies, etc, etc. etc.
@nova_star5102

Sally Browning Pearson his drawing board is a light box and the black round plate holds the paper in place, it is used in traditional paper animation hope this helps!😁
I saw that guy! He is really awesome and fun! =D

My two favourite people, who just happen to be my two favourite you tube art tutors
Very cool video...I love Aaron's work and have purchased several of his online tutorials. Just one question: how does he keep charcoal dust from getting all over everything in his studio? In every video, his studio always looks so clean (if cluttered). And assuming charcoal dust does get everywhere, what does he clean with? I have a lot of white surfaces in my studio and it's hard to get off of them.
Nice ❤️
God damn i love this stuff
Favorite part? Aaron, of course :) Great chat, very nice and inspiring to see. Thanks!
I would die for Aaron
That animation desk is 5k??? Why? How? I want one, but that'd be my entire savings.
@JRBCollections
3 жыл бұрын
It's from his time in Disney! They only made a handful of them! They were custom-made ONLY for the animators at the time. Once they started to get rid of the 2D animation department, he ended up buying his desk! Pretty much a one of a kind!
@gmcubed
3 жыл бұрын
@@JRBCollections sure, but its just wood. Seems like it would be a quarter that cost.
@JRBCollections
3 жыл бұрын
@@gmcubed I can agree with you on that haha~ It must be a premium cost due to it being custom OR the fact it's intended use was for producing high cost animation. Also, for the time it was made, 2D animation was still in its teenage years, so those types of desks probably weren't made all that often. Whatever the case though, I want one 🤣
