🇩🇰 Aarhus Ø Denmark - 4K Tour Newly Developed Town - July 2023
Aarhus Ø is the newly built area in Aarhus City located in the harbor area near the city center. This area has a unique modern architecture, a maritime vibe and some Watersport activities.
This new part of town is well under way and is now a modern and charming mosaic separated by canals. From the downtown cafés there is only a few minutes’ walk to the south facing ledges in front of the educational campus, Navitas, where you can dip your toes in the cool sea water.
The weather was very nice this day of 26 °C. We will end our tour in the city center. Sit back, relax and enjoy watching this beautiful Danish city.

Compared to The Netherlands, Denmark feels so much more airy, clean, spacious. Love this walk!

It always depends where you are, you cannot generalize it like this. I'm pretty sure the Netherlands has similar new developments areas somewhere, just like Denmark has historical areas completely different to this. Nice walk btw, loved it, I'd love to visit this place sometimes.

This new area looks very urban but still feels very quiet, spacious and green at the same time. A perfect combination, if you ask me. Very modern, but it has a soul. It reminds me a lot of The Netherlands.

Close ups and the angle-all you need.

This reminds me of "Västra Hamnen" in Malmö, Sweden. 😄

Just an observation if this a new developed town they could not put stairs in the concrete down to a sandy beach looks like a lot of people would be more comfortable ??? That would still work as a seawall?
@CityTourExperience

Good point! totally agree with you. It would have been much better to have a sandy beach instead of concrete wall. Although, I would assume that they went this direction due to the rocky nature of this side, and perhaps they took into consideration the continues rise of the sea level. But of course people would always enjoy and prefer to chill on sandy beaches

For not so long ago these places was a place where people worked in places that now have been torn down but somewhere and sometime the planning has gone wrong becauce at present there is 10000 apartments without tennants , a huge amount of unused apartments yes but they are very ekspensive and not for all and cant see how that can be solved quick
@CityTourExperience

This is very interesting point. If there are this many apartments without tenants, how come it’s not even possible to find available apartments for rent in this area. When you try and search for a place to rent. There are only few very expensive apartments listed, but not even near a hundred. Makes you wonder what’s the reason behind this. Assuming it’s fully reserved to the rich, then how will they be able to cover the massive budget went into building this project over the years

@@CityTourExperience That a good quistion - for many years there were not many apartments to rent mainly because all the New students seaking the universety took them but something has gone wrong in Århus - it seems that huge companyes has invested huge sums with the intention of earning huge sums of money and it looks to have backfired particulary on the Århus Ø - would be hard to imagine that they will rent them out cheap at the present time .
@CityTourExperience

I understand. It sounds like a huge bet to take, especially considering the fact that there are very large expenses associated with keeping those apartments empty. I don’t understand the logic of keeping the rent as high at this point. Aren’t they risking complete bankruptcy this way (assuming it didn’t happen already) Wouldn’t make more sense to rent some flats a little bit cheaper, so people could afford to move in. Perhaps get some liquidity to keep up, also bring more life to the area to make it more attractive
Need to nail the angle

I think it's the worst beach I've ever seen, I wonder whose idea it was to lie on concrete and sunbathe!

I think you need to look up the etymology of a beach. What they’re sitting on is a dock, rumor has it they’re not the same thing..

There are beautiful beaches in Aarhus, and this type of sunbathing is everywhere in the world, and I don't see anything wrong with it. It is good that young people are not so capricious, but something that is difficult for you to understand - Danes use every moment to take the necessary dose of vitamin D no matter where. From the balcony to the park or that type of beach, whatever you call it..

It's not a beach LOL
Must be filmed in the morning, because the usual hordes of african natives are still not present.
Honestly... this looks terrible, too much concrete and so few or totally undeveloped trees. Looks ugly AF...Only depression feeling. I can't imagine how it looks at winter... That's why i like pines, they are at least green full year.
I find it very impersonal, boring and raw. Why not invest in making cozy spaces where people can talk to one another, and creative structures with lots of plants and trees, like in a garden or park? Most of it look like a parking lot to me. 7:07 this flat grey concrete is so depressing and lifeless. I think they've made a terrrible mess of this; people lying on hard concrete. Icy and emotionless.
Poor city planning. This is to enclosed and ugly. If you gonna build such an eclosed are you should have way more local shops and services so it doesnt become a wastetland like this.

You’re right! But this tour doesn’t cover all parts of this new town. It’s mainly the quiet part. There are other parts that is full of shops, coffees, bars, restaurants and there is big street food market. There is part for libraries, small offices spaces. Also a water park with some interesting shops and water activities. There is also fishing area. The area is partly finished and inhabited. So, there is a potential of more local shops and services taking place in the near future. You can check this video to see more of the area: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIKBu5SIaLatk9o.html
