We grew up listening to Alamgir in the 90s. He is a Bengali who stayed loyal to Pak even after 71. A hero for 90s kids.

Alamgir is a great example of human struggle and superb talent when he came to Karachi, Pakistan, empty handed, no money, nowhere to sleep and used to sing in a restaurent on Tariq road for the only meal of the day he gets there in return. Our Bangali friends and everybody else should know this as he himself narrated this on several occasions. With his tenacity and talent he became the biggest popular music singer and musician in Pakistan. He sang several popular Pakistani folks and memorable Pakistani national songs beside creating his own brand of music from where the popular music evolves now to current Coke studio Pakistan. And he never forgot his Bangali roots and hence brought respect to Bangali culture in Pakistan and everywhere he went. Simply put he is adored in Pakistan.

This song remains me of the 1952 incident. Our brave brothers fight for Bangla as their mother language.

Everybody wants to hit the keyboard without giving another thought. It was amazingly sung by one of the pioneers of Pakistan's pop industry - this is not about bringing nationality but complimenting his achievements. Whenever, I hit coke studio on KZread, I want to listen to this Bangali beautiful number - it is mesmerizing and soothing. Fed of this India v Pakistan v Bangladesh childish arguments. He is the 'Elvis of the East', he is Alamgir (means Conqueror of World) - Enough Said!

as I am Bangladeshi, I am feeling that do whatever u want but Bangladesh, India,Pakistan we all are brothers from the same mother. there was always some haters,ignore them. because after they we all same. Back to our brotherhood. by read comments I feel really good. ( ignore my english skill, not good at this)

Actually that guy is a Pakistani, although he may be ethnically Bengali but he chose Pakistani during the war. So I don’t understand why everyone is calling him a Bangladeshi when he clearly didn’t choose my country.

I met him once at Mirzapur Cadet college. He is not only a great singer, but also has a great personality. He could not sing due to health complications but made a couple of jokes. We literally had our asses laughing of. Respect.
