The beach scenes are real. BET actually used to have a program that was called "Access Granted" and they were on the set with Aaliyah to film the making of the "Rock The Boat" music video. The specific shot that you thought may be fake wasn't fake but filmed during the sunrise the day before Aaliyah passed away (August 24,2001). The "Access Granted" program happen to capture Aaliyah and her crew on August 25, 2001 leaving the filming location by boat before she would later board an airplane that same day (so the footage that happened to be captured by "Access Granted" on August 25, 2001 was filmed just hours before she passed away due to the plane crash). You guys could react to the making of the video if you want just search "Aaliyah Rock The Boat B.E.T Access Granted"

Ugh i use to cry soo hard during the access video episode because AALIYAH and her crew flew into this destination to do this video and when she did the final scene you just knew what happen afterwards 😔.. although this video was put 2nd (we need a resolution was 1st) this was the last music video she made. More than a woman was released 3rd but was already shot before Rock the boat 🙏🏾🙏🏾😔

Aaliyah was 22 when she passed, in fact this was the last music video she did. After they wrapped up this video that's when the plane crash happened. Her self titled album was posthumous. Selena was 23 when she passed. Such young songbirds we lost to early.

Aaliyah never wore wigs lol. She wore extensions to make her hair look fuller (here and in “try again”), but her hair was naturally very long. She was known for that

I remember waking up on a Sunday morning and going to Walmart. Aaliyah’s music was playing on every radio station I turned to. I thought maybe it was her birthday and then I heard the announcer say she had died in a plane crash the evening before and it just broke my heart. I was in a state of disbelief. I tried shopping for a few things but I wandered around the store in shock. I couldn’t even purchase anything and just went home and cried for days. Aaliyah’s career had started skyrocketing. I enjoyed her film roles and knew she would only get better and blossom into a full on international star. A beautiful soul gone too soon.

Still as hauntingly beautiful as the first day I saw it. Such a bittersweet final gift she gave to the world before her passing. Carmit from the Pussycat Dolls is a dancer in the video (Red hair) she posted her recollection of the final day of filming and how “Family oriented” Aaliyah made the entire crew feel, it was somewhat a calm before a tragic storm. So glad that we have so many artists trying to keep Aaliyahs legacy alive to this day. Her death definitely messed a few of us kids up, as she was this super talented icon on the rise, she didn’t even get to hit her full potential. If she were still here today, she would have dominated the industry, in my personal opinion anyways. You should react to “Are you that somebody”

Beach scenes are real, boat scene is real, and the label that jojo was on was the same label Aaliyah was apart of. It was owned by her uncle and he created it because Aaliyah was only like 13, 14 when she started and no label knew how to market her cuz she always sang so mature.

Her estate (parents and brother) were in a battle with her label (her uncle) which is why her music hasn’t been available until now. This was her last video filmed in The Bahamas and her plane crashed when leaving the Bahamas. This was 2001 so it was early 2000’s. She was 22 when she was killed.

Aaliyah was one of the biggest r&b artist before she died. She didnt have bad representation! At all. She was also becoming a movie star. She was not represented by white platforms like MTV, VMAs...she was Britney before Britney yet was not respected as such by those particular platforms that haulted her from international. Her death made her more known with white ppl, not blacks. Thats like if Beyonce passed away in 2008..you will have looked back and realized all of her concerts were full of "people of color".

Just an amazing artist and I am sooo glad her uncle’s label company is releasing her catalog of albums. I pre-ordered ALL of them. And yes she accomplished so much, what sucked even more is that she was finishing filming Queen of the Damned and had signed on to be in The Matrix sequels around the time of her passing, then the roles ended up going to Jada Pinkett Smith. Great reaction gentlemen.

Her uncle is over the label. He’s also behind some of aaliyah, jojo, Toni, tank, timbaland, etc music not being on streaming platforms. He screwed all of his artists over. Now he’s trying to release all their songs/albums because he’s money hungry. The artists who created the albums get nothing. He recently released some of Aaliyah music and her stuff went to number 1 on streaming platforms within the first few hours.

Rock the boat was definitely one of Aaliyah biggest hit!!! That song and video was consistently top 10 and she definitely was known for her creative videos and choreography! And this wasn't 90s it was early 2000s ... I know that because she slowly passed on shortly after this video wrapped... In a horrible plane crash... I think they filmed this video either in Jamaica or the Bahamas... She unfortunately passed b4 she got to finish filming the Vampire film Queen of the damn... She was also signed to star in quite a few other films she did romeo must die with jet lee and she do to film all 3 of the matrix trilogy as well as the remake of sparkle along side of Whitney Houston! I gaurantee if she were still here... She'd be bigger then Beyonce right now!!!!

Why dont you guys do research before talking to give more respect to these artists. Especially about musical legends on a review channel. She began her career in her teens. Her videos were blocked, but her music was just re-released by her uncle. Her music was disputed over by her family....Video was shot by Hype Williams in the Bahamas and choreographer was the legendary Fatima. Hype filmed for Biggie, Missy and so many top artists. She and many in the crew died right after this shoot flying back hm. RIP Baby Girl.

You're right, videos don't have the same production as movies. The King of Pop (Michael Jackson) is the first and only artist to make movie quality music videos. He was a real artist who saw a vision for every song and carried it out with and sometimes without the label until he created his own label and he took full creative control. He brought in the best film directors to carry out his vision and collaborated with them to make it even better. No other artist has done that including stage shows. Some artists put all their energy into their music but none are the visionary that that Michael was throughout his life. Which is why his videos are so legendary and it was an event even televised on network tv the release of his videos. They were handled like movie premieres. RIP to the King.

Actually Selena was murdered at 23 in March 31st 1995 aaliyah passed away in August 25th from that horrible plane crash in 2001 at age 22 she really filmed it at the beach in the Bahamas from August 24th and on the morning of her death on the 25th but first she filmed it on green screen and in the pool on August 22nd in Miami Florida before leaving to go to the Bahamas on August 23rd -26th she wasn't scheduled to leave the beach on August 25th but was scheduled the next day but since production of the music video wrapped up she wanted to go early leaving with her record label crew while the dancers and director stayed on the beach and that was last Time they saw aaliyah and her label crew leaving on the boat to catch the plane and Fatima Robinson had tooked a picture of aaliyah and her crew on that boat that was the last picture of aaliyah and her label mates and it haunted Fatima for years and she still have it for the memories

This video was recorded in 2001. I think that the bahamas portion of the video was filmed on the same day that she died....😔

This video was released after her death, in 2001. She was 22 years old. Although I was only a year old when she passed, I grew up with Aaliyah, thanks to my mother being a big fan of Aaliyah's since the 90s. But she was a beautiful human being, and her legacy won't be forgotten! RIP Baby Girl.
