Imagine the amount of disrespect this woman endured throughout this relationship. I’m so thankful Kelly’s getting his. I wonder what she would think of him if she were still alive today.

I’m not going anywhere today about Mr.Kelly and his family because he is not a very sick and beyond nasty 🤮 guy,,, but he knew exactly what and how he was doing when he was turning the young girl into a woman but he never 👎 got the attention or the opportunity to talk about his situation to his or her mother and father because of the situation and circumstances and he was so upset 😭,,,scared and angry 😡 and upset 😭 because he was being a victim of his own actions and realizing that his life had consequences and he was still alive and still suffering from all of the trauma and consequences for the loss of his childhood,,,,because he really never 👎 had any connection or control of himself and he had to deal with everything that happened and never cared about his own feelings and actions…..he just needed a friend and never even had any homeboys or family friends,,,like a buddy,,,hhelll,,,, I love this life that I have now because everything will never 👎 change for me and my life but even if it does,,,, I still have and will always have my beautiful 🤩 first COUSIN ARLENABEATIFILULEJONES AND SHE WILL ALWAYS BE LOVE AND SHE IS SO GOOD 😊 AND BLESSED 😇 AND SHE IS THE ONLY ANGEL 👼🏾 I WILL ALWAYS SEE…..EVERY BIRTHDAY 🎂

I am 45 year old white guy who loved rnb and hip hop starting in late 80s. I was around 16 when this and Back and Forth came out-summer of 94. Shit was fire. My life was girls, parties and sports back then so hearing she was around the same age as me but also possibly dating Rkelly just really didn’t hit hard. Years later, thinking about how the powers that be had her sing this, even though it’s an absolute classic, hurts especially as a father of a mixed daughter. Aaliyah was one of most gifted and beautiful people to walk this earth and going through what she did at this age when this song was made is sad. Thank for your contribution to this world baby girl RIP

Nothing unsettling about the fact that a 14 year old is singing this song. There are plenty of songs rooted in fiction. What IS unsettling is the fact that this song is not based on fiction and that there was some "questionable" behavior between a minor and an adult. What's worse is her parents didn't do shit. Guess they had their hands out.

I use to love this song being young & ignorant to know what was really going on but now I can't even listen to it knowing I'm a decent human being & have a conscious knowing now that Aaliyah was a victim to a pedophile whether she was accepting r kellys advances it was wrong as hell. I ♥️ Aaliyah but she has way too many other good songs to be listening to this knowing Rkelly wrote it for her they were dating & basically the song is what Rkelly & her was feeling for one another when they were around each other dating on the low. I can't even listen to it now thinking how he took advantage of her being only 14 & he was 27 smdh 🤦🏻‍♀️ She shouldn't even be talking about sex at 14. She wouldn't have been even feeling him like that if he would have never pursued her knowing damn well he was too old & could have gotten locked up for it why because it's wrong as hell & that's why it's a law to protect young people from pedophiles like R Kelly. Don't see how her parents were ok with this song coming out. I have a 13 year old & can't imagine her saying shi+ like this

Weirder even bc he makes HER sound like the aggressor! 😳😩 No computer back then so i was thinking the lyrics were “going DOWN” not “throwing down” and I definitely thought she said “Love thing I have “ not “something I have” … R. Kelly knew what he was doing there! I don’t know if Aaliyah would want young girls hearing this message. Sounds like she went through some unimaginable stuff. 💔💔💔💔💔 …. The swag in this video tho. 👸🏾

Jason Johnson exactly, to me it was moreso trying to trick people into thinking of teenage/adult relationships as normal. It’s common knowledge that some teenagers just naturally act more mature than their peers, but songs like this makes it seem like the more mature teenagers are capable of having healthy relationships with a full grown adults, which of course is a dangerous mindset.

I use to listen to this song so differently back then. When I was 15 I interpreted the song as a bold statement of just because I’m young doesn’t mean you can’t take me seriously. I also got that vibe from Aaliyah’s press interviews at the time; Like “just because I’m young doesn’t mean I can’t sing as well as folks who are older than me. I have a voice, I can sing, and I’d like you to hear it”. Of course now as an adult, listening to the lyrics, and with everything that we’ve learned about the producer, it takes on a very grim and different meaning. BUT no matter what, this era of Aaliyah’s life will always stand for that message to youth that if you put the time and effort in, grown ups can take you seriously. Stay grounded and have purpose in your voice when you want it to be heard.

@@hopehouston5732 Where is your proof Aaliyah was told to say that? Or is that you speculating because you see Robert as guilty based on being inspired by rumors? First off, her own family denied that there were any relationship between her and Kelly and confirmed that they were always around her. Her mother said that Aaliyah was never even on his tour bus. The reason they were friends were because Barry Hankerton introduced them because he wanted Robert to co write and produce for her. The marriage license that you see has been compared to a real marriage license and it is NOT a match. In fact as I said Robert's former mentor has already stated I trial that HE was the one behind the marriage license and Robert and Aaliyah had nothing to do with it. You do know documents like that can be faked right? There were attempts to find the marriage on file and it came up short. Those are all facts.. what you presented to me were how you felt.. what you think you know.. and what you think Aaliyah did. However you will not find any of that online, on record, and it will always be speculation. We can't always do things the hood way and base things off of "he say she say" and speculation. You have to know the facts.

The rumor that she was pregnant turned out to be a lie.. where is the child? Where is record of abortion? Where were they born? You believe in theory with no base...except for rumors. Lisa Van Allen, Barry Hankerton, Demetrius (his former mentor) Lisa Van Allen, Andrea Kelly are all disgusting and are liars and extortionist...proven.
