AA-35 Zoom From RigExpert Coax Cable Loss And Length Of Coax Cable With Jim Heath W6LG

Ғылым және технология

Jim W6LG uses the RigExpert AA-35 to estimate the length of two coax cables and also measure the loss of the cables. Some old coax cables turned out to be okay. Who would have thought that?

The 55 model reveals the cable length and impedance within seconds. No math needed. Chock full of other features too. Well worth the value and additional cost. Thanks for your videos, de K3WR.

It is good to be scene. I had a tough two weeks in the hospital. I was in for a week. Out for two days. Rushed back by ambulance and had emergency surgery at 8PM the first day of the second visit. Both times I had severe sepsis with organ failure. I was in guarded condition and in isolation. 73, Jim W6LG

Hi Jim: Thanks for your excellent videos. I've been playing with my new AA-35 Zoom for two weeks trying to figure out something obvious I guess. I'm trying to check the length of a new 50 ft RG8X coil of cable. I follow your instructions and have no problems until I try to figure out how to determine the last step.....how to multiply by the multiple of 1/4 lamda. In your example screen display how did you determine that "4" was the figure to use as the multiplier. I can't tell by just reading your screen. Thanks Roger

That is the problem. The AA55 is a better choice. I usually have to run it buy the CFO and she wants to know why I need something. And that can be hard to explain. 73, Jim

Don't you find that the RigExpert products are cheaply made? I sent mine right back... of course it was DOA...But, even if it wasn't DOA, I'd still have sent it back not being worth anything close to the asking price.

No, my AA-55 Zoom is fine. What are you expecting, a metal case? It's an incredibly useful piece of kit. I agree with Jim's comments about how well the manual is written and the menu system is so easy to use. The value is clear to me but of course everyone's expectations will be different. Y
