Extremely Dangerous. That cutter is rite out of the 30s. Surprised the kid on top ( ON TOP ! ) of the cutter is still alive. All the money in the world couldn’t get me to operate that cutter.

For that, prices of products manufactured will increase significantly. Are you, everybody else around you willing to pay more for every single thing you use in your daily life? Probably not. You will go out on protests probably. & the businessman who owns the factory will pay the wage from what his pocket?

This machine is at least decades old. It’s made in the Shanghai factory, maybe half a century ago,

I used to train my nuggets on cutters without an air table. It's the best way to learn to handle paper. Well done.

Yea I had a big sign on my Polar do not disturb while cutting....conversation had destroyed many printed sheets...one wrong cut can cost your job.

@@johnnyteague3407 Long ago I worked with this gal that would run her mouth 8 hours a day and distract people who were cutting paper and cleaning presses. One wrong move in a print shop (well, at least 30 years ago - I'm there are more safety measures now) could mean losing a finger or an arm. Even long hair can be a real problem.

@@archibaldsmith3974 I had a co worker named albi he had long hair and he would listen to the sound of the ink on an AB Dick with no cover....that hair got caught in the rollers . I shut the press off and he cut it the next day.lesson learned

I work on a Guillotine for the past 26yrs very hard and responsible job. The guillotine I work on is a lot more modern than the paper cutter in the video

@@fernandovalencia3542 - I respect the hard work and poorer conditions he must work in -I really do - but there is no excuse for the lack of safety - it takes nothing to enclose that spinning wheel ready to grab someone’s clothes or hand - and wear shoes for Gods sake.

Could use a squirt of oil on that back gauge. He's a braver man than me, I wouldn't go anywhere near that thing.

No need for songs to entertain the operator. This guy is just going on talking to him. How great is that?

Very true!!! Where there are no quality standards there will be no quality outcomes!! I'd buy him a programmable one and make more money!!

I know how to operate the machine. We used to have this in our printing press. We are currently using this machine in our office. Very old tech.

Foot pedal operated and no way to ensure his hands are clear of the blade before he steps on it. Wow. Well let's hope the operator doesn't get sloppy. He obviously has the experience.

It's not that sharp, certainly less sharp than your kitchen knife as the blade needs to be quite thick to withstand pressure, its the force of the hydraulics that really cuts the paper.

Can't believe he hasn't cut one hand off. Very dangerous machine !

My family print shop have an Original Perfecta Seypa with nixie tubes display, it is at least 50 years old but I'm sure works much better than the one in this video.

At office when A4 paper ran out and abundant A3 paper available. I used to cut them to A4. 😜

Only thing more dangerous is a 3 knife trimmer. Guy is good no 4 inch long scars on his arms. Loading a new knife meant you lost a pint of blood if you were not careful. I hated those things. Just looking at the blade could cut you or cut you hand off. Safer working on printing presses that would just suck you in and rip your arm off. Oh and 35 years ago we had hydraulic operated programable machines no hand cranking BS. Shit would still cut your arm off. Nice precision German and Italian machines though Wohlenbergs, Polar, and Muller Martinis.
