INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 7:32 pm on August 26, 2023, the Seattle Fire Department responded to a reported underground vault fire at a loading dock at 6700 West Marginal Way SW. It prompted a large response that included the newly formed Energy Response Unit team that was created just two months earlier. ENERGY 1 responds from Station 25 in Capitol Hill, and consists of firefighters from Engine 25, Ladder 10, and Aid 25. The fire department established a 300 foot safety perimeter after finding light smoke coming from the vault. Crews entered the vault about twenty minutes after dispatch and found no active fire. No injuries were reported. The incident lasted two hours and twenty-six minutes.
