First backpacking trip of the season and we are starting the 2024 season off with a bucket list trip in Yosemite National Park!! We got these permits for Cathedral Lake (camped at Upper Cathedral Lake) just a week in advance because someone cancelled (and we can't seem to ever plan far enough in advance to get these popular spots without getting a cancellation 😂).
Cathedral Peak via the Southeast Buttress is one of the 50 Classic Climbs in North America, and goes at a super fun 5.6! Eichorn Pinnacle via the North Face goes 5.4 (although, we have some thoughts on that at the end🤔). We really wanted a trip that felt super fun, easy, and like we weren't going to die after all of the recent crazy adventures, and this trip was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Lots of fun, cruiser climbing, and INSANE views of Tuolumne and Yosemite!
As this is posted, we have hopefully summited another bucket list climb in the Eastern Sierra... a peak we've been to the top of before, but this time, we will be climbing!! Any guesses on where?
