A world first in music distribution

Revelator Labs partners with Alon Lotringer and Folly Tree on music distribution world first. I Go To Sleep becomes the first cover song with the license stored onchain, having been purchased via Easy Song.
Originally written and recorded by Ray Davies of The Kinks, I Go To Sleep becomes the first song where both the right to distribute, and the royalties themselves, will be stored immutably onchain. In a music and blockchain first, innovative distributor Revelator Labs will distribute the cover, by Alon Lotringer and Folly Tree, to over 50 different music services, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon.
The license to distribute and earn from the song, purchased via music rights clearance platform, Easy Song, will be pinned to an IPFS node, and linked to an immutable record of the released song, making for a groundbreaking first. By placing the license onchain, Revelator Labs allows any platform that is monetising the content to validate the license. Not only will the license be stored onchain, but the royalties accrued by the song will flow back to the rightsholders through Original Works, Revelator Labs web3 distribution arm, which allows artists to seamlessly bridge web2 and web3 royalties, whilst splitting amongst collaborators and other invested parties.
The Original Works protocol offers a trusted bridge between real world assets, royalty streams, and DeFi, allowing greater transparency over royalties payments. OW services are currently in Beta, and gradually being rolled out to a variety of labels, independent artists and distributors.
Distributors regularly need to verify that a license document is authentic and not a forgery. Up until now this workflow has been both tedious and time consuming: the distributor needs to email the license provider and await their response. While in the meantime the artist is also stuck waiting for their distribution to be approved.
I Go To Sleep is released 1st July 2024, and will be available via all major music platforms

Hi @quanthanh2th3, with the Original Works protocol we will submit licensing information as soon as the release is out. The protocol will make these submission available to any content recognition software, which will enable instantaneous approval. It is up to the streaming platforms to adapt the tech to integrate and provide better SLA for their rights holders. You can learn more here: www.original.works
