This steering wheel lives rent free in my head and frequently visits my dreams
As a consistent bottom 10 finisher.... I'm not worthy of such beauty on my desk. Maybe one day if I get a sudden splash of the raw talent I'm missing.

You don’t need raw talent. You just need raw money for this 😂
Dave, been following you for a while, always enjoy your “content” I think you need to own this. You’re a sim racer/reviewer. That’s all good but “us” regular sim racers don’t get companies like Invecta, Grid and so forth sending us products just too enjoy and have fun with. They send them too you for us, the audience to listen to your “review”. Have a great day Dave , Cheers
This looks beautiful, i will fully ignore the price. What a beautiful work of mastery here. The quality is off the scale, the feeling you must get from driving with such a piece of kit must be unrivalled. I love it
I bought the steering wheel about 6 months ago and I don't regret it. It is just perfect. For me, it's definitely worth the money!
I got mine in march and love it ❤ Their firmware might be easier in handling, but still is buggy. Switched back to simhub, runs perfect 😊
Thanks Dave for not only giving a great review but also giving sound financial advice
That's a nice wheel Dave. It would not be value for money for me. Do I want one? Hell yes. Do I need one? No I don't. Better to spend on what you need rather than what you want. I have just about everything I need to enjoy sim racing. Always nice to see you reviewing new gear Dave. 👍
Looks lovely. I can't afford it, and it wouldn't make me any faster, so it's an easy pass for me.
I love your honesty Dave, that's what makes you unique. Is it worth it? Definitely subjective but we love our sim racing gear. Thanks for the video

I've got one and its fantastic! Definitely one of the absolute best rims money can buy!!
Would really like to see you do a three way shoot out between this wheel, VPG’s V-RSPG and PSE’s LM-X wheel.
Awesome review ❤
Hi Dave, do I want it? yes will I buy! maybe when I win the lotto. You already talked me into buying the mpx best purchase I have made, thanks. I am looking forward to your non review of the button box though👍
Finally, some Dave Cam ASMR
I do love the looks of it for sure, also the functionallity of the LEDs through simhub, BUT. I got the V-RSPG Pro, and would i ditch it for the Grid? I think not, the VPG is also top quality with customer support that blows you mind. But as you say, you are not buying any steering wheel, its also the feel of sitting there with a top notch wheel. Thanks for you opinion Dave! You are the man!
Great video, Dave. Awesome wheel that! You should check out Porsches new GT3 Cup wheel. No where near as nice as that and it’s £8K. Only 150 units though.
Wow, amazing thing.
If this isn't expensive enough, Porsche themselves now have just released their own 911 GT3 Cup wheel for sim racing. Limited edition for a mere $10,475.00.
If I had enough money where the cost didn't matter I would buy it just to have on the shelf, best looking wheel hands down.
0:10 This is the X-rated content I enjoy so much. That thing is beautiful!
I promised myself one if I reached 2500 iRating ... but as that seems a long way off at the moment, I might just have to give in and get one anyway. A thing of beauty is a joy forever ...
that's an awesome wheel. I'm fortunate to have one, the one thing is has is some flex at the bottom of the grips but not noticeable when driving
Hi Dave, I'd like to add a comment regarding my experience with Grid. I purchase this wheel, when I got It, accidentally fall on the floor, breaking few knobs. I wrote to Grid to fix my wheel, specified that as my own fault I will pay to fix. They send me a label and shipped my wheel to Grid, they fixed and ship it back in less than a week ( I'm in Italy ) and they insist to don't get any money! So I didn't pay anything to fix something that I broke on my own fault. So anyone interested in buy something from Grid, their support is 10/10. They are just professional people. Enjoy the wheel. I hope you keep it.

Similar experience with support from Grid. I dropped the power injector and damaged it. I called to replace it and they shipped it, got it in a few days and they refused any money I offered as it was my own clumsiness. They are friendly, prompt, and just awesome to deal with. Loving my Grid MPX.
Have to let us know if they let you keep it Dave!!
Best looking wheel I ever seen, but no way I would spend that much on a wheel.
Wonderful wheel ! It's too expensive for me but I love this wheel.
A simrig is never 'done'. Once you have something nice and like racing, at some point, you'll want to continue upgrading. All components are of such amazing quality these days that things don't break (usually), they'll continue working for years and years. So every once in a while, you can reward yourself with a 'nice' upgrade, as the main investment was made a while ago. Lovely wheel :)
Favorite sim wheel of all time! Unfortunately I can’t afford it. 🙁
Some colleagues don't understand, why i spent about 2500€ on my wheelbase and rim. But they are buying new downhill bikes, for more money ervery two years... Hobbies aren't cheap, in my opinion simracing is still fairly cheap, compared to many other hobbies. So if you can affort it... go buy it! I'm shure it will last more than two years ;)
Looks most exquisite, flawless really... But to be honest, unless I'm building a crazy serious sim rig, I'm not spending 2500 euro's just on a rim.
The other similar one with same buttons etc just stick a Porsche badge on front. Sorted 👍
Awesome wheel! Here in Brazil it would cost twice as much because of the abusive taxes (approximately 100% fee).
Dave does ASMR
Looks great. Looked at their site and it’s from the Netherlands. I do like that. Bit over budget tbh
This looks awesome! And on the bright side, I suppose, it makes the Fanatec BMW M4 GT3 wheel look totally affordable by comparison. 😂

It's really sad that the M4 wheel is the newest thing on Fanatec's site. They have really fallen off.
High end equipment is cool. So cool I can't touch it. Same with hi-end audio equipment. So cool and maybe sounds nice. I'll stay with a 7 year old G29, and a 6 year old Yamaha reliever. Still running a 1080ti too boot.😂
I was looking for this review a few days ago for some reason I thought you'd already review it... I'm in between this wheel and the Precision sim engineer...
Well, whoever has a big love for the Porsche 911 RSR with one of the most beautiful steering wheels I've ever seen, and have a deep pocket of money, here it is! It sure makes for a great collector's item. You'd showcase this in front of everyone, it'll look beautiful in front of camera, it'll make you look like a Porsche Factory driver, it'll make you feel like you own an RSR. But do you need it? Absolutely not. XD
wow, price is wild. definitely too much for me. But looks stunning. When is this trackIR video?
the craziness of sim racing, when the rig in your home cost as much if not more than the average good secondhand daily driver, you have to ask yourself if you are sane !, as good as it all looks and or feels, I bet there are times on track where you are beaten by some other drivers whos rig cost less than the service charge for you daily driver, end of the day, for me at least it's more about getting the best from what you can afford, be it a DD, or belt drive wheel base, and home built rig from ply and wood, or a premade alloy rig. Not that I'm knocking you in anyway, your content is always on point, your "reviews" are concise and compelling to watch, you are lucky in that the makers offer you the chance to try their product, often free of charge, and often with the option to keep it or purchase it, we the average guy can only dream of ownership of most of the products due to the high prices , but for Mr Average, the only way we get to try these is to buy them, so watching you Videos is our chance to try begore we buy. Personally I'd like to see more entery level reviews that us average people might be able to afford, I upgraded to my current Thrustmaster after viewing a video you did, and I am over the moon with it, same with the screen, I went to a 27" 2650x144 @145 hz after watching another video and listening to what you said, again a great upgrade, my personal circumstances means I have to work within a budget, and so far all my budget purchases have been great upgrades.
hopefully my numbers come up on Friday 😅😅
I’m saving up for a dd wheel now but idk which one to get. do you have any recommendations I’m willing to spend around 2 grand. Also thanks for the video they are always great.
What do you think about the Rexing Mayaris Formula Wheel?
Hi Dave, what was the €400 wheel you held up for comparison?..Cheers
absolutely magnificent wheel... a piece of art! gotta get triples sorted first, with a beefier pc, but right after that, im saving up for this puppy!
I have one of these for sale. Perfect condition, $2100 shipped within the US. I use the Grid 10” DDU and just don’t need a wheel with a screen as well. Looking to buy the Grid MPX since I already have the DDU. Anyone interested let me know. It is an amazing wheel!!!
Whilst you have the wheel, can you drive the 911 rsr in ams2 POV with it?
did they get a permit for that licence?
3:33 so...Dave switched to ASMR now? Not what I subscribed for😂

Beautiful looking wheel but as you say is unfortunately very costly. I feel like every new wheel rim is getting more expensive, a sign of the rising popularity of Sim Racing I suppose. Even rims of ebay are holding their prices, very few deals to be had I found.
One wheel i for sure want in the future, as a big Porsche fanboy. BUT it is a lot of money, but as Porsche is a high end brand, it does make sense. Quick question, does the wheel not work with the Asetek QR? As i can see you are not using the build in USB
@tswany11
10 ай бұрын
I have the MPX and they are both powered by a power injector so you can't use the QR 'hub' from Asetek. There are about 80 LEDs and a screen to power so the injector insures enough power for all that.
2.5 grant... but... i`d like to have one :D
Davey, are you gonna try those simucube pedals with ffb? what do you think about them?

Does it have a Fanatec QR?
£400 import duty. So 2.5 grand? Let me think about that...
Jeeez it even "looks" way out of my price range lol
Is this a officially licensed Porsche product? 😉
Great review Dave , but to be honest lot of sim racers myself included would find that price just way to much .Does look nice but id be kicked out the martial home if i purchased that

@@davecamm Think you should make another video with both wheels :). You're the only person on KZread with both wheels.
At this price, it should be fully molded carbon fiber like the Fanatec, not heavy aluminium.
I'm debating between THIS one and the PSE LM-X. Do you have any experience with the PSE wheel? I'd really prefer to save the extra $1k if they're similar quality... and really, the only reason I want the PSE is because of the awesome funky switch...but now that I'm typing that out, I'm kind of deciding that I don't think it's worth it to spend that much more only for a funky switch! lol
@ondrejtoman
10 ай бұрын
for me, the grid is better. in the lm-x you only get a 4 inch screen, which imo doesnt fit the wheel, and looks too small. tbh i only use a funky switch to change some settings in the pitbox black box in iracing once a race... also if you buy the pse button box, that has the funkies on it as well, so i'd sacrifice the better looks of the grid, for me having to reach a bit further once a race. also pricewise its not that bad, considering the mpx and ddu5 together cost about 1800... this wheel is the end game for me, and i will always aspire to own it. i have to get triple screens sorted first, but after that, i'll be saving money for this baby!
@codyrunsfast1
10 ай бұрын
@@ondrejtoman nice, that basically decides it for me. I think I'll just get the grid. I love it. I already have the DDU 10 from them, so it'll match, and I also already have the PSP so I can use that for the funky switch. I like the larger screen on the grid wheel, sounds perfect.
@patrickdurka6188
10 ай бұрын
Quality wise they are pretty similar from what i have heard. Only had the lm-x. Main differences are the grips, the hub position, screen difference and funky switch. The pse uses plastic around the buttons, grid aluminium. There is also one from vpg sim and one from sim rep. But i think they all got the size wrong, the real one is 320mm or at least 310mm haha
Looks great. Can you send it to me? Edit: I'm gonna need that wheelbase as well. Thanks in advance
what would you say is better that or the VPG one, I am going to buy one or the other?

I wouldn't rave so much about this product. Paid full fare for it, have quality problems with the rotary, discovered that Grid's service is just arrogant and insensitive to customers whatsoever. You buy this product you're on your own guys--hope you have better luck than my unit!!
@davecamm

That's completely contrasting to what everyone else is saying. What was the issue?
@antares_racing
10 ай бұрын
One of the rotary encoders was faulty upon unboxing, and the porsche crest was scratched. Submitted online support request, Grid says "didn't receive" and by the time we got connected weeks later via social media they say "now it's too late for a swap--you've used it for too long and it'll be _unprofitable_ for us to take your unit back... you ship us the faulty unit on your dime for repairs... too bad if you have to go without a wheel in the meantime" I couldn't make this up.

@@davecamm thank you for the response, i'm in the market for a premium wheel and was considering this or the LM-X from Precision Sim Engineering. You may have swayed me!
Import duty at the moment is the killer. £185 to have my Grid MPX delivered from post office once they had there grubby hands on it from UK.
very nice but it cost more than my complete setup ahahahahaah ( tsxw, sf1000 , tlcm and oplite gt3 superfast ) XD
Imho if you are spending the money on a top end DD base i want all the feedback it can give. Strapping a heavy wheel to the base kills the subtle feedback and its definitely noticeable. I don't see many reviewer's/sim racers talk about this. If it was measurable and in the region of a 15% feedback loss due to the weight of the wheel deadning that feeling, would people still buy these heavy wheels? I mean it looks nice, but is a visually nice wheel worth loosing the ffb intricacies. A performance downgrade for looks?
@davecamm
10 ай бұрын
I'd say any wheelbase 17nm or more will have zero issues with a heavier wheel. I even ran the MPX on the Asetek la prima without issue. Maybe this one would be slightly too heavy
The price of high end Sim gear is becoming unbelievable. Really nice wheel but out of reach to 90% of sim racers in my humble opinion

Yeah awesome rim but to much paper , I agree its a work of art but not within my budget. It looks like a heavy rim also so unless you have a expensive high torque base you would loose a lot of detail ( i run a 8nm csl dd )

where is grid based? i don't know anywhere where you have to pay vat and import duties, it's only vat and a small charge like 10 buck for handling fee on entry to the country when buying from europe, that's if they don't charge vat at source, if they do charge vat at source then there's no fees on entry at all to pay
@davecamm

@@davecamm there is no customs duties from europe, some companies take vat when you buy others don't now since brexit, any charge on entry to the uk is just the vat that wasn't charged when you bought the products, there is no "customs charges" so to say, only a handling if the courier has to sort out the VAT on entry, and thats like a tenner or so, some companies still take VAT when you buy the product and in those cases it's no different to buying like before brexit, you just have the delivery turn up
