No, no, no…. It doesn’t start with quick ball. Lots of people say that, but no team actually wants slow ball. What is imperative, is to carry the ball, over the gain line. Then your clearers & support runners get there quicker than the defenders. Then you play it quick, then you cross the gain line etc etc. You can’t just will ‘ quick ball’ England’s current problems: not enough genuine heavy carriers in the pack. Our 8 is fast & explosive but not heavy, our 7 is very small. Neither of our rows carry very well, especially Itodje. J George no longer carries and we don’t have an international 12. Then we often pick fairly slow wingers. So we can’t go through or outside teams. So we invariably don’t cross the gain line and so our ball is slow. Our selection is a mess. Itodje, George, Underhill, Cole, Ford, Daly are all yesterday’s men.

It opened with some brilliant contenders with FRA NZ, then IRE RSA, then IRE NZ took the crown for a brief time until FRA RSA. I personally thought that the FRA RSA game was absolutely astounding, the second half would have been a contender for the greatest game ever, but that first half was gripping.

@@benco9876 1) Britain has 23 players on their doping list in the oast 8 years. SA has 13 in 25 years. The anti-doping program reports on the testing regularly which is why the international countries seem to think there are many more cases than there actually are, as theirs do not. 2) SA has one of the most rigorous testing programs and actively engage schools with an active anti-doping program, resulting in less and less than 4 testing positive the last year. Unlike many British schools, of which I recently read are "a law unto themseves" with no real plan on how to counter the increasing drug use in many rugby plating schools. 3) Its the governments duty to inact and sign the international anti-doping charter. They are the most corrupt government with the worst record of actually doing their jobs, which you lot helped to install. So SA Rugby has nothing to do with that and dont have any power to get it signed. We have already been fighting this actively for decades. But the British media has everyone believing otherwise. And the public keep following them like sheep because it's another mindless wip to beat SA with instead of acknowledging the work and dedication it took to win the WCs despite what we face in SA.
