Great looking shave Paul. It’s great to see love and passion for the old school products. Sometimes we neglect them and forget just how good they are for the money. Beautiful display of flowers by Mrs H. Have a blessed and wonderful week.

Fantastic beginner shave video. Very informative for the beginner or the experienced alike. We all need to remember where we came from. It’s not how much money you can spend that matters, but getting a great shave and not breaking the bank. Thank you for this awesome video. You bring it so well. Lol. Take care and cheers.

Great shave and video Paul, you are the person who started me D E shaving 5 months ago and I brought the Wilkinson sword classic, soap and brush and loved it. Of course you buy new razors, soaps and brushes but it is nice to go back to the old classics 👍

absolutely fantastic Paul. I love it when you use the inexpensive products. I too started DE shaving with the WS Classic back in the mid 80's and I remember cutting myself to pieces whereas today I can whip over the face in a minute or two with it. I've got a thick and coarse beard and sometimes I shim the WS Classic to increase it's aggression only slightly. The great thing is that all that you've used today (except for the Arko) is readily available at Boots and is very affordable. We don't have inexpensive DE razors in the chemist or supermarket over here in Australia. Great stuff and thanks for sharing.

Nice shave Paul. 😌👏 You weren't the only one going down the non fancy path this week. I went for an inexpensive one on Tuesday too, the same WS bowl that you used, a £2 shavette and a cheap brush and splash. I know why people like these shaves so much, and we can get a bit of a kick out of them, especially when the shave is no worse than the poshest shave we could put together,. Lovely flowers LH 😌👏💐

Very good video today Paul. Starting at the beginning we have to congratulate Mrs H for the beautiful flowers and for the arrangement in the jug of flowers that you present us today. Good shaving with cheap and pretty good products and with the good advice you give during the video not only for beginners but also for some experienced people who sometimes forget that cheap products are sometimes as good or better than some much more expensive ones, but as we know, sometimes only the name of the product is enough to sell it. What can we ask more, than to you continue with the good work done as you done so far.

Nice educational shave there Paul. Hopefully newbies will see this video and heed your excellent advice. Nothing wrong with using inexpensive products, I like using Arko and Derby soaps, Pinaud Clubman aftershaves etc.. All affordable and work great. Sometimes one gets tired of using the fancy stuff, need to get back to the roots and experience the shave for what it is. Right. Thank you Mrs H for the dazzling display of color this morning, well done. Great video Paul, thank you as well. Enjoy!

It's nice to have a back-to-basics shave now and then - have come to appreciate many inexpensive products more than back when first starting when that was all that I was using. New shavers: you don't need the more expensive hardware or products, try not to get all caught up in the variety that is out there. Paul, best to you and yours - another nice shave as usual, with some really good advice for newer DE shavers. Keeping an eye open for your favorites for 2017 video!

It's amazing how much stick that Wilkinson soap gets, yet it still sells, and you lather it so well, with their perfectly serviceable boar brush. It does provide good protection during a shave, just needs good lathering technique. Lasts me six months with daily use.

Good evening Paul! Outstanding floral arrangement Mrs. H!!! Your videos always place a smile on my face. Quite right, one doesn't need expensive shave gear to get on and have a good shave. Our fathers certainly made do with one razor, inexpensive blades, thrifty soap/cream choices, and a sensible brush. The Wilkinson Sword Classic is indeed mild. I shaved with mine for a week straight during a trip...it gave a good shave. The downside for me was I could feel whiskers in about 8-10 hours. It does work as a daily driver. Your tips are always spot on...especially for beginners...yet the professional would be wise to listen! Fantastic shave Paul! Look forward to your top 5 video. Take care.

I'm 23 and have been shaving with some cartridges and I've been having some light acne because of it. (The foams, the way you can use a blade for quite a time (even though I disinfected it before use) All to say, I just bought this package at Wal-Mart. It comes with a water bowl, a stand for your brush as well as your razor and I got it all for 30$ CAD. Since it seems to be working well I'll be getting used to the three pass shave (wet shaving) as you, my man, seem to really take it as some me time (as it doesn't take 2 minutes like today's shaving) and it seems to be a great benefit for some personal well-being. Thank you for the video, have a wonderful day.

Good budget shave. been meaning to pick up a classic just to try. I love the fact it is has no overhang. That wilkinson sword soap I personally found drying and the brush I ended up tossing when I moved to a synthetic just didn't work for me personally. With that said I've found a great budget shave is a Dorco PL-602 or a Gillette Tech with whatever blade you like and the Nivea shave cream lathered with a synthetic brush. Aqua Velva is my personal favorite non artisan aftershave and of course I like most use the Nivea balm and it's the perfect balm for me.

Got mine today from Birmingham, UK and love that little razor! I can't stop stroking my legs they are sooooooooooooooooo smooth. The Wilkinson Sword Classic Razor gave me one great BBS shave! I was on my final pass for cleanup and buffing and BOOM, all the power went out, so I was shaving in total darkness. I couldn't find the tub's faucet to turn the water on to rinse off. Then I was worried about getting out of the tub. I was knocking everything over when I did. I was in the midst of my testing on the other Gillette Wilkinson Sword Blade, second use, and Journaled it in Badger & Blade.

I'm new to safety razors. I got the Wilkinson's sword premium collection for £4 in the Christmas sales, it included the brush and soap you showed and the metal Wilkinson's sword classic de razor. I didn't seem to get on with the blades included though so I got some personna blades from Asda and they work amazingly for me. I got a blade sample pack on eBay and the only blades that work as well the Czechs Republic personna blades are the egyptian Lord platinum and israel personna platinum, I liked the shark stainless blades but they felt blunt after 1 shave.

Have you tried the new Gillette, Wilkinson Sword blades made in India with that razor? I’ve been a big fan of both Wilkinson Sword and Gillette since I was a young man so imagine my elation when the new blades turned out to champions. I like them as much as I do the Astra SPs. Would have been cool as a completely Wilkinson shave but as they say, if wishes were fishes, we’d all be casting nets.
