You have no idea how much I needed a cozy video of weird salad recipes today. Thank you.
Husband is adorable, love that he's honest but you can clearly see he doesn't want to say how he felt about the salads 😄
Sometimes DITL-types of videos can be too much, this is a PERFECT format, IMO!!! It breaks everything up into digestible little bits and keeps all the thoughts fresh. I hope you do more like this. ❤
Love the format! I like to see real life, it helps me feel more confident in my own life. Your videography is beautiful your little one saying “mama mama” was precious too.
Be very vigilant with cleaning the humming bird feeders. Because of the sugar you will also get mold/mildew😅😅 growing within just a few days. If the drink the water that has been contaminated by mold/mildew it will actually kill the humming birds. The hotter it is outside you might have to clean them everyday. Or maybe rotate them. Put 2 out and the next day take those other feeders in, and then clean them for tomorrow.

@@WithLoveKristinaI love Nature an birds I don't have anywere 2 hang any of that stuff. I have No trees in my yard. On the Southend of my house I have 3 big huge Pine Trees..❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
I love bringing "salad" to holiday parties. It was my favorite thing to eat during Christmas while growing up.
I’m loving the apron content! I’m currently reading a book called “Perfection Salad” about the scientific cooking movement of the late 1800s thru to the 1950s. It definitely puts all that mayonnaise into context :) Basically, they only cared how food looked, not how it tasted, lol.
This was such an enjoyable film. Please keep up this format!
I love this format, thank you 😍This is the kind of a cosy video I could watch on repeat when I need a bit of a pick me up 😊
My mom always made a green jello salad . I’m the only child out of 4 that liked it. It’s unprepared green jello with cottage cheese, crushed pineapple drained, cool whip, marshmallows and pecans. I loved it! I don’t remember her making any other 50’s “salad”. I enjoyed watching you try out the recipes. You’re much braver than I am.

I remember this! I'm GenX but my mom made food she grew up with, and my grandparents brought these dishes to family gatherings!
O & I love seeing glimpses of your family. You are so sweet together & adorably genuine
I LOVED this video. Not just for the recipes, but mainly for the day-in-the-life styled vlog footage! Please make some day-to-day vlogs! They are genuinely my fav and inspire me to romanticize my life. ❤
Omg I just got this book a few weeks ago for my birthday 😂

TIME TO COLLABBBBB 😂
Ambrosia is good with whipped cream and either sour cream or yogurt and powdered sugar, I use canned mandarin oranges and maraschino cherries cut up in 1/2s or 1/4ths. and canned pineapple chunks coconut and marshmallows. Thats the recipe I always use and so did my mother in the 1960s. She is 90 now so she made the salad when it was popular. I made it when everyone came to my house for holidays but everyone is grown and off doing their own thing now. Your frozen salad? Is has similar ingredients to my Ambrosia salad. Love the deer so sweet. It is fun to see and hear the kids and your husband in the background also I like to hear your hubby's comments regarding the old/new dishes that you make. (old recipes that are new to your family) Take care, I like your mixed content.
This style of filming is perfect! Sometimes I get bored with videos that are just focused on one part like just cooking or just cleaning and kind of lose interest halfway through. Not this, very relaxing to watch and I enjoyed seeing little snippets of your days.
Please continue this format🙏😊🙏 I loved how it flowed. As always your videos brighten my day and add some calm to the chaos. Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness, these salads!! 😂 I loved seeing little moments from your week. This episode was so sweet and lovely, Kristina! ❤️
Your stuff is always fun. I'm a 1940s gal & I know you mix it up. At a few seconds in, your groceries take up the counter. I love it. So real. Makes me feel better because its groceries & your house is adorable. I think part of me feels bad to not have everything perfect. But hello! What a silly thought. Thanks for your video.
I love this video! You are doing a fantastic job and whatever decisions and directions you take your channel, I will still watch. I am a child of the 50s (now 72) and as nostalgic as the 50s are now, I remember how hard my mom worked. As to replacing your steps or adding a porch, I do hope you go for the porch. My husband and I added a huge front porch to our 1896 Victorian, best move ever! Love from Texas ♥️

I am rooting for a porch as well! I really hope we can make it happen.
As someone who grew up in the south and surrounded by family who ate banana mayonnaise sandwiches, I’m not surprised the pairing worked😂
As always, I absolutely love your videos. Your upload made my weekend! The beautiful flowers and bird feeders on the outside of your house make it look just as lovely and cozy as the inside. I would be thrilled if you made more casual homemaking content in the future. Thank you for sharing your life and your family with us.
You, my dear, are a beautiful soul in need of a porch. Your being demands it. I am praying right now that a lovely porch with a glorious swing and vintage wicker are in your very near future. Thank you for your content. You make other neurodivergent, quirky, mayo salad making mums feel seen. All you impact are blessed by you.
Hello Kristina, I love your real life adventures sprinkled with 50's era. Never stop doing it how you're doing this channel its bright refreshing and so down to earth refreshing. I'm writing to ask where might I get that same dress it looks so very flowy. From garden to kitchen to run errands even school play versatile. Is it linen? So comfortable you look in it. Maybe it's just you, not the dress. Or both😊🍉💛have a wonderful summer. Thank you, Cill
I really enjoyed this format. Keep up the great work
Not only did I like this video, I loved the recipes - homemaking - all 1950s style - combo! Yes, please make more of these!
I love this format of video! I love to see the homemaking aspects, too! Thank you for inspiring me as a single mother to get into the vintage lifestyle! ❤ much love to you and your family!
Wonderful video-I love old timey recipes.
You're style is such a delight!!
I love the format and wow the deer & beautiful foliage all around you is lovely ❤
I liked this format! I also now feel the need to google what makes a salad a salad...
I really enjoyed this video and would love to see more calm moments. Lovely
Most of the recipes are sketchy 😁 but I am obsessed with that Tupperware mold!😍
Loved this! Thanks for sharing💖
Mayonaise popsicles! ❤ 😂 I think the 1950s was a time of proprietorship… jello took aim at the American housewives by offering whatever they could find for consumption and along w that is the fortune made w corporate ingredients and supplies albeit mayo, sugar, canned goods, pans, molds, liquids, etc… it must have been such an exciting time for homemakers! Especially when you got a printed booklet w your jello mold! ❤ great video Kristina! Hope you get some quiet time! Maybe w the feathered friends in the sunshine ☀️… you deserve it! ❤
This video was so calming and comforting. Loved the new format!
This was adorable and just what I needed today! The changes you want to make are normal. You don’t need to justify your self! ❤❤
loved the cooking / homekeeping!! would love to see more videos incorporate both sides :) would also love to see more 1950's meal ideas!!
The recipes you made looked so beautiful. You made it look so easy to do. You have really very nice vintage items!!
Loved this video, so calming and beautiful! Thank you 😊
Love seeing your everyday life. Enjoy the family clips too!
My mother was a 1950s housewife and she'd be over 100, can no longer ask, but I never remember her using mayo and jello together! Love you!

That is so sweet of you to say; thank you!
I loved your video. The beginning was so calming and beautiful. I love the dogwood dishes and the crazy daisy pyrex. The salads looked inviting and carefully prepared for the pleasure of your family. I believe the word to describe your home life in this video is “elegant “!😊
I like this format of video soooo much, it's cosy and nice and calm and i just feel like home... I like the fact that we can hear you on the background talking, your family too, it makes things more vivid and real ! The recipes seems odd but a fun experience to do !
Love, love, love, love this!!! PERFECT!!!
This is a great video. So fun to watch your recipes and sprinkling of vintage life
Like this format a lot! Very real & relatable. And cute!
Enjoyed seeing the 1950's salads but what was the 1950's house wife thinking when it came to mayo??? Today we have fluff, cool whip and we always had cream cheese! Funny, I was born on 1958 and thank God my mother never made them!! Lol! Your porch, flowers and patio looked so nice when all done. Yes, those types of videos mixed with recipes are great. Really enjoyed this content! LOVE the red refrigerator and the 1950's vibes of your kitchy kitchen! I saw the cutest fabrics on Etsy for curtains! Happy Summer! Living in the tropics, with the humidity, here on the East Coast, yuck!
Love this presentation! My favorite was the rosy fruit slices. ♡

This was a bad day and now I feel motivated to try a new recipe, thank you
I luv your videos! so relaxing and fun to see how you go about caring and loving your family while also show casing your love for the 1950's esthetic and life style, the format of this video was excellent. A slice of life in a less tech driven world and harmony with nature and self
Gardening shenanigans!!! So, that's a good description of what I do in the garden 😂😂😂..you are doing just fine...lovely video...so happy I found your channel...thank you!🥰🌞🐝💚
I absolutely loved this!! Thank you for being here and sharing with us ❤️☺️.. much love from South Carolina ❤️
This video format is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your days with us.😊
We made banana salad-it was Nanas favorite. Old recipe-lettuce, sliced banana and the dressing is miracle whip, sugar, and milk for runny consistency. Its amazing!❣️
Loved it all! Keep doing what you enjoy. This was so pleasant to watch/listen to while I stitched.
This format was 👨🍳❤️! Love the vibe and loved how you showed real housework and just daily normal life things, like having to clean your patio and your skirt getting chalky.... literally been there.
For the longest time, we could not figure out why my sister's hummingbird feeders attracted so many birds. Well she was doing 1/2 and 1/2 water and sugar ratios! She adjusted the ratios and things calmed down a bit. Love that coral/peachy dress you wore in the garden.
You and your family and cats are adorable...the highlight of my day!
I love you and your husbands interaction! Haha! Also your property is gorgeous! Great job on those salad recipes!!
❤ thank you Kristina ❤ great video as always! You can realy see the love and details you put in this video ❤
Love the new format!

This was a delightful video. I look forward to the recipes.
Mayonnaise had the 1950's in a chokehold! Also I love this style of video. Also also, the deer get so close to you! How amazing
I was just thinking I havent seen sweet Kristina in a while and here you are! Glad to see you!❤
Goodness what is up with the mayonnaise obsession in the 50’s?!? You’re such a trooper for giving all the recipes a fair chance. Loved your video, as I always do. I’d love to see more everyday life content like this 😊
That was a real fun video! And yes loved this format, thanks
For my graduation supper my mum made all these “50’s” jello salads because it was my grandmother’s favourite. Never mind I can’t stand them and was so disappointed. My special meal was memorable all right. I suppose if it had been my favourites I wouldn’t have remembered. It’s just so wrong.
Love the video format! So congealed salads are my favorite! My Granny made an orange salad that was my absolute favorite! Orange jello, crushed pineapple, Mandarin oranges, cottage cheese, cool whip, sour cream, and mini marshmallows. 🤤 Also her and my great grandmother made Banana Croquettes which were ripe bananas rolled in a mixture of salad dressing (similar to miracle whip), sugar, and apple cider vinegar, then rolled in chopped peanuts. It's a Kentucky thing, mainly a central KY thing. I loved them so much as a kid (elder millennial here)! I'm not scared of weird salads! 😂
I absolutely love what you are doing. Been working away from home so will catch up on your videos. You are always so real. In my heart I’m a 40’s 50’s gal.
Thoroughly enjoyed this format…thank you for all the effort you put in for us all😊
Always love that you post a cooking themed video. My mom always makes Ambrosia salad with sweetened condensed milk. She also adds walnuts or pecans which adds a nice crunch and cuts through some of the sweetness. If you have not tried it that way, it's worth a try. It's delicious.
My mother makes something similar to Ambrosia salad, but it uses sour cream instead of mayonnaise. I think she calls it five cup salad- one cup each of mandarin oranges, pinapple chunks, marshmallows, coconut and sour cream. She also adds a few toasted nuts for crunch. It's amazing! I think Ambrosia salad would have been good with just sour cream as the dressing.
Lovely, well filmed and well edited video! I especially loved seeing the deer.❤ I have deer in my neighborhood (Prescott, AZ) and adore them! I even forgave them whem the munched on my roses. (We found a natural spray that has deterred them that was recommended by our local nursery.) Loved seeing how you spent your day. I wish there had been youtube when I was a young mother. Watching you would have been so helpful. ❤
I've always been very picky on my potato salad. I'm anxious to try your recipe. I've always been afraid to try tomato aspic. You've given me the courage to give it a try after I clean off my patio. My kids are grown and I live alone, but I still like trying new recipes.
I loved the format! And now I am craving my mother’s aspic.
Hi, this was just the sweetest video, gentle home making, little bit of outside work and some strange things to eat 😅, not what I would call salads but I think I might try some, just not give to hubby, he's not really an adventurous eater. More of this type of video would be lovely. ❤
I don't remember these types of salads being present at our meals. I do remember "Watergate Salad" being very popular at church functions and there was a bowl every time. Is t it so true that in our day to day comings and goings some spaces get neglected. We leave something out because we're going to use it soon, or something pulls us away and we just don't get back to it. I have a back patio in need of some straightening up, as well as a guest room that gets clogged with little things. Thanks for the motivation. 😊
Such a cute video! Love the new format idea!🥰
I love this video so much!!! I always love vlog- style content and your videos make me so happy!
I usually listen to youtube videos but will watch this one again, so many lovely details. Thanks. My Mom was a 50's housewife but by the time I was born she'd dropped those kinds of recipes and was really into Julia Child - I can see why!
Loved this video. Very natural.❤
Enjoyed this so much!!! ❤
Just beautiful and relaxing to watch ❤👍
Really loved this video. I like watching you just pottering about, doing chores. It’s peaceful and reminds me of home. In the fifties and sixties, I remember when those salads were first introduced and I loved them. In the UK here, I think we weren’t used to salads because all veg was generally cooked, and so these very sweet, fruity salads may have appealed to the more traditional palate. If I remember correctly, I think we would have cold meat and green salads, etc. and with one of those sweet mayonnaise style fruity salads as a side dish. They do go very well with cold meats on a buffet table. I don’t remember eating them as a dessert though, so this was new to me! One salad I particularly liked was a fluted ring mould, like you showed the final salad in. It was a blackcurrant jelly (in UK, that means a set gelatine dessert made up from a Chivers packet!) and set into the mould was lots of small cubes of cooked beetroot. The beetroot could be from a jar, but if you only had plain cooked beets, then add vinegar to the water for making the jello. (Is that the American word for set gelatin?) It turns out onto a plate, a glorious deep wine colour with small purple cubes set in it. And we used to take it to a pot luck lunch or serve it at a buffet, or with barbeque stuff. Children loved it! Happy days, thanks Kristina.
This is so wonderfully cozy. The salads sound like my personal hell, but the aesthetic is wonderful.

My grandma created a Luau Banana Bread that has walnuts, pineapple, and coconut. It is so good.
