You don't realise how much of reassuring and reminding your vlogs are! Even if you post rarely the impact of your Naseeha stays for long. Coming from a Desi Diaspora Culture the norms of your family is really astonishing for some us but Alhamdulillah showing your vlogs to our Family is bringing rays of change in them also. This is spot on. How I wish my diaspora family also took on these norms and stuck to religious guidance instead of cultural ones, but we’re generational chain breakers and we’ll bring it back 😊

The way you both are treating your aunts (if they are your mothers sisters), it reminds me of the Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), that he said: “The maternal aunt is of the same status as the mother.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Abi Dawud) It was said that what is meant is that she is of the same status as the mother with regard to being entitled to custody, because the hadith was narrated concerning that. (Fath al-Bari, 7 /506) It was also said that her status is equivalent to that of the mother with regard to custody and other matters. Adh-Dhahabi said in al-Kabair: “That is, with regard to showing kindness, honouring, and upholding ties of kinship with her.” (Sharh Bulugh al-Maram by Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin, 5/203)

O Allaah, send Your salaah (grace, honour and mercy) upon Muhammad and upon his wives and offspring, as You sent Your salaah upon Ibraaheem, and send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon his wives and offspring, as You sent Your blessings upon the family of Ibraaheem. You are indeed Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

Is it really Not the norm to have NONE mixing weddings? Alhamdullilah all I've known is separated weddings! SubhanaAllah one must think of starting the marriage off with halal settings that InshaAllah will put barakah in the marriage. Many factors..... The mixing, the music, also the over spending and for females the dress code.

You’d be surprised. Our culture has normalized mixed weddings, music and lavish entertainment that wanting a separate wedding or a simple nikah is seen as “extreme” unfortunately 😢 and we’re a Muslim country which is pretty sad
