Yes, we were aware she wasn’t doing well, which is why we kept her inside with us to live out her last week or so. 🥰

@@TheSuperiorGardener I have a 3yr old hen who's comb started falling to the side 3 weeks ago. And I haven't been able to find any info on it. Do u know anything about why this happens? It just flops over now but color is a nice red. Oh and I adore your girl and this video💖💖💖

She looks exactly like my chicken Fatty. My Fatty chicken passed away due to covid. I cried. It was so heart breaking.

OMG this video brought a huge smile. We too had an inside chicken and her name was Lucy. She was. RIR. All the things your Lucy did in her one week was amazing. Our Lucy did sooo many similar things. Eating the dog food in our case. Our lady was an outside hen. In the morning she went out with her sisters. At night she came in to sleep. Our Lucy was #2 in the pecking order but very sweet. I know very well the joy Lucy brought you. We also brought our girl in at night due to a leg injury. She was almost 4-year old when she crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. Again this video brought such joy and memories back to a special time in life. Sounds like you have other ladies and I hope they are doing well. ❤❤❤❤

Any creative ideas on HOW to set them up an indoor roosting place at night?? A hen just showed up at my backdoor out in the country a week ago! She's fine outside loose during the day (lve got NO henhouse) but at night she's out there & lm so concerned!

Chickens belong outdoors until you are ready to bring them back into the house and in the kitchen to prepare them for your dinner!

But, a droopy comb. You might wanna check that out.

Yes, yes they do 🤣. She lived her entire life outdoors though - we just brought her indoors more often during her last week of life to monitor her a bit better. It was the least we could do for her since She provided us with lots of eggs (and love ❤️)!

U shud trim her beak at the end. The part that is lighter

The most broken thing about this is that u feed and egg to Lucy. you could have her eat fried chicken because that's healthy 😊👍

I feel sorry 😞 for these SO CALLED house chickens that need to be outside for most of the day. The health of the hen starts to deteriorate from lack of direct sunlight 💯%fact I’m sure this hen loved you but they love outside more. Don’t copy this mistake that so many people are making. Trust in the fact that 3 years is all a chicken can take before health issues become a factor.

Dude, this chicken lived outside her entire life. This was her last week of life - we brought her in here and there so I could make sure she was eating and drinking. This video is meant to be cute and fun and put a smile on people’s faces, not looking for advice or negativity here, but thanks for the comment ✌️💯

You "feel sorry" for a spoiled and pampered chicken? You know what chickens I feel sorry for? Factory farmed chickens who live their life in a cage packed so tight they can never turn around. Or chickens who live on a farm in a tiny, muddy pen with nothing to peck at. Half the chickens in the world live sad lives. In no way does "house chicken" mean that the chicken is never outside. No different than a house dog who plays outside and then comes inside. Some hens WANT to be indoors with their people, especially if they are low in the pecking order and get picked on. Chickens can live very long, happy and healthy lives as indoor pets. Much healthier than those in tiny pens outdoors 24/7. However in this story, the chicken was brought inside to have a safe and comfortable end. She was clearly very happy being indoors and it was very kind of these people to do this.

@@zsuzsuspetals I agree & disagree with you & everyone else that wants to debate if chickens belong inside or outside is just obvious that if you left the door or window open to outdoors they would exit your house after they get whatever it is that got them to come inside. Food is 1 💯%fact BIRDS live longer lives outdoors. Not in a cage or house.
