8.31 minutes, D-Shake - Yaaah. Remember driving about like this, more in Ruggie and Toryglen though, listening to the same tunes, then heading to Tin Pan and the Subbie at the weekend. As you say, "smile on yer face and a tear in yer eye at the same time". Good times.

My Dad worked at Firth Brown at the forge. I remember scenes of unimaginable deprivation in the surrounding areas - this was in the late 70s to mid 80s.

Duke Street before it was ruined, the old butcher's and flats at corner that got pulled down at Whitehill street. Coia's bought the land then built those new flats and their restaurant. Remember Coias was at top of Millerston st and Duke St across from station. An old friend talking about the Mardi Gras, saw him recently he's doing well for himself

@@GIRO He's doing great and got his own landscaping / gardening business going which is doing well as he's got good few vans and workers on the go. I hadn't seen him myself for ages and saw him in Asda, was same old Tony smiling and laughing . Was Good to see one of the guys doing well for himself, I like to see people getting on.

@@GIRO Usual stuff same shit different days. You must have hours of footage built up are you working through it converting from tape to digital. Did you film a lot during the 90's or kept going through the years, when you think of camera size then to hd quality on some phones its crazy.

The auld Forge works (Beardmore) shut doon in '83. Started building the 'new' shopping centre couple ae years later.

I worked there in 1990 when Asda was Gateway. Half of Carntyne worked in it. Remember the manager pulled up some of the young guys and after his shift he went out to his car which had a brick through the front windae

The band Scheme was from Cranhill. My brother toured with them around Europe. The lead singer Robert was still doing songs in pubs in the city centre around 2010. I met him in the lamp post on the high street. That pub is gone now. I used to have a cassette tape of all their songs that my brother gave me but i gave it to another brother years ago and never got it back. The song they did in the 1980s that goes something like "another 5yrs you have f#$ked it up again" was my favourite at the time. It was about Maggie Thatcher 🤣

@@garryallison5679I always hated rangers fans till I seen a couple of rangers boys getting battered by a few Celtic fans near Byers rd.. jumped in and helped them and it made me look at things differently from then on, one of them had a Stanley blade and was about to do some serious damage, thank god my mate and me got there in time,, utter madness
