    Awesome rig! Just bought a 66 plate 3.2 Ford ranger myself- just what your thoughts were on the TDI tuning box? I am kitting it out for longer overland/touring setup so looking to increase the mpg for long trips. Did you find a noticeable increase in mpg after the tdi tuning box?

    No, quite the opposite. I bought mine for performance setting not economy, so I fitted mine, turned in up to the top setting and have left it ever since. 🤣 To be honest I'm not all that pleased with it, I'm not saying it does nothing, but I am saying it does very little. 😔

    Great video and you have done a great job with it. I am thinking about a used 2016/ 2017 Ranger Wildtrack possibly later in the year as the load space and towing capacity etc make it appealing. These Wildtrack spec ones look great and especially in the orange or black finishes. What is it like to live with every day being a pickup truck i.E is it okay handling on the road (has it got any worse with a suspension lift) and also what sort of mileage range do you get from it to a tank round the doors locally? Thanks

  • @drbass9677

    @drbass9677

    4 ай бұрын

    when you drive them they don't feel much different to driving a car apart from the handling around corners where they feel a bit like a boat that's what i noticed anyway when i went from my BMW to a Colorado. If you only do a 2" or 3"" lift it won't affect the handling much but if you go any bigger then it can start changing how it handles. They are also pretty fuel efficient.

    Tyres and wheel offset in combo are too big for that lift. You will need to do what 99% of us do and chop into the front of the front arch liners. 😉 They're simply plastic and can be trimmed. I've removed a fair old chunk from mine after fitting 35" tyres even on my new 6" lift kit.

  • @DetailingandtheBeast

    Obviously the tyres do create a lot of noise anyway, but the roof bar doesnt create noise like some I've seen, perhaps because it is set a little further back to eliminate glare on the bonnet, and its tight to the roof skin. But let's be honest, if I cared about it that much I'd remove them! Simple fact is that it is not that bad in reality and we use the car as a family and not once has anyone even mentioned "noise".

    Oh you definitely notice. It doesn't add power, it changes the throttle positioning. So you get like 80% of the power over the first 20% of the pedal. It just livens up the driving experience. You can pick like any of 18 settings, but on the EVC most don't use any of the eco settings and use performance 4 through 7 (it does 1-9). I find 9 way too aggressive, but it's fun to try.
