Hi Ben & Lois, our Buffy hats arrived! They are perfect, so comfortable and look great too. About 34 years ago as a boy soldier we went up Pen y Fan, twice. It was a complete white out (December) the first time which is why the second. The second time when that section with the big drop was pointed out to me, (not a big fan of heights) and seeing how blind I was the first day definitely gave me jolt. Looks like you had a great day, great post!

Hi Ben & Lois. Ben I feel your pain. My wife signed us up for a charity walk a few years ago. 50km's in one day! (54km's in total). Pen y fan was about midway on our walk so you can imagine how we felt looking up to the summit already tired from the distance we covered. My knees took a pounding on the way down the mountain. Anyway we completed it and is was for charity. Great video, its inspired me to do some more walking. Keep up the great content. Cheers Seamus

Good to hear you enjoyed the Beacons. They're on my doorstep (40 min drive). My first visit there was way back in the mid-eighties. Been there in all weathers -37C with wind chill and 2 feet of snow to scorching hot summer days. Take good care both of you.

The horseshoe loop is my favourite route there. You also pan over one of my favourite wild camp spots. Can’t believe how quiet it was. You were lucky!

Ben, tell Lois getting a map out when you think it's calm will always cause the wind to blow a bit. Getting the map out when it's blowing a bit means someone else will find the map somewhere downwind a month or so later. Sandy

Beautiful Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 countryside and great views, ThankYou! My maternal great grandparents came from Wales to America in the early 1800s. Have Always yearned to visit there and learn more of my roots. The stone path you’ve traveled looks as though it was laid down many many years ago. Do you know its history?

Love going up there always seems to be wet though! When you're up there and the fog comes down you cannot see those cliff edges!

Hope you get to do it with your grandad. Should be a great day. Ask him if he knows Terry Jickells my father (A Squadron). Him and Lofty Wiseman used to run selection together. He may know because of the era. Peace. Mark
