    Please remember, that the ancients had over 6,000 years and more experience of moving, shaping and erecting massive stones long, long before anything was constructed in Britain. Such a modest structure would not have challenged them.

    Thanks Marq- I had heard of The Devil’s Den but never knew its location. It is hard to imagine how primitive groups did manage to manhandle these stones weighing tons. This edifice is nothing when compared with Stonehenge & with the movement of the Blue stones from Wales. We have the best minds engineering wise we’ve ever had but still nobody can come up with a credible explanation of how these structures came to exist.
