Sweet Friends, Happy Holidays. Josie thank you for all you do especially for vlog mas, My Mom started her cookie cutter collection in 1950 in Germany. It has grown and grown. People in our community have been adding to the collection. We have everything from plastic to copper. Every shape and holiday. My Mom has passed but the cookie cutters (hundreds) still keep growing. I have been storing them in two very large gray Tupperware with wheels. I will invite friends over for cookie decorating. I make the cookies baked and cooled, And my friends are the decorators PS the biggest cookie cutter. The snake (a foot long) from the Noah's Ark collection. (I invite my friends and their grandsons over for snake decorating on rainy days. We all have so much fun. Be Blessed Everyone.

Where I live in the US some of us say shop for what you call a store and store for what you call a shop. I always love learning these little differences in our verbiage. 🙂

Our family tradition is that I make Turkey noodle soup with the leftover turkey and veg. We eat this with crusty dinner rolls and mmmm, it's so warming and delicious!

For your leftover vegetables. Heat up with chicken powder boullion or veg bullion and hot water from the kettle. Season well and include any other bits and bobs to ramp up the flavour e.g. garlic (ginger for Charlie's sniffles if desired) and blitz. You have a very fast soup in winter! Absolutely no waste.

Don’t worry about the baking. Your Vlogmas videos are jam packed with activities! Great content already! I love cookbooks. My favorites are vintage ones from the 1950’s-1980’s. I grew up with mince pies and butter tarts at Christmas. Can’t find them here in the states. No Boxing Day here either but my husband and I still do a supper (he’s American). You are definitely the queen of knitwear! Always so chic! 😎 Sweaters are my favorite pieces of clothing. Ironic since I live in a warm climate but not caring 😝

Glad it’s not just me…looking for Christmas kitchen bits..I’ve lost my Sophie Alport T Towels and hand towels but when I was looking for then I found my lost cookie cutters.😂

Lovely vlog!! Day 20… going by quickly! I must tell you even though I am in the US, I’m a huge fan of Jamie Oliver and spotted immediately a year or so ago that our darling Charlie followed several Jamie Oliver recipes . Of course, Charlie also remarked that did in fact use those! Well dear Josie , I meant to buy another copy of the Jamie Oliver Christmas cookbook and I completely forgot!! So thank you! ❤ And so excited to see all your Christmas creations and cocktail etc. I wish we had Dec26th off here in the States. I always take the last 2 weeks of the year off, but you folks in the UK have it right with Boxing Day! I wish we did that !❤🌲

Josie we have what we call our store in our house too. Two extra refrigerators and freezers, plus dry goods on shelves in our cellar. A room dedicated for this. We’ve had it for years. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s got the space. I know this is your channel, I see it as a Josie, Charlie, Dexter, and Dickens channel. One of the sweetest channels in social media. ❤🎄❄️

Your recipe hunt is making me hungry 😂. Cannot believe you’ve never made bubble and squeak 😮. Cold meats, red cabbage and pickles with cold stuffing and pigs in blankets always on Boxing Day - it’s better than Christmas Day lunch in my opinion❤

Fig jam is good with brie as well. Something we have here is a jalapeno jelly, mostly sweet but it has a bit of spice, also good on brie, especially if it's baked off.

Ohh for me it’s the garage of inconvenience Josie 😆 All the recipes sound delicious, yum 😋 I often add honey to my cooking & the difference it makes ☺️ We always have bubble & squeak on Boxing Day .. fry all the leftover veg & potatoes, add a spoonful of marmite & lots of grated cheese.. so so good with cold meats & chutney, try it Josie 😋😋😋

Josie- both Sainsbury's and Waitrose have crystallized ginger in their baking sections. I always buy it when I see it though... just in case! xx

Hi Josie 👋🏼 My leftovers recipe is a Christmas quiche. Shredded turkey, cranberry sauce smeared on the bottom of the pastry inside, Gruyère, stuffing broken up into little chunks. Pour in your egg mixture and then top with more Gruyère and streaky bacon. Bake and the bacon will crisp and then golden brown. Chefs Kiss

Josie, I take all of the broth leftovers from a roast and add it to a big pot of lentils for homemade lentil soup - so good!

Bread sauce is a must with turkey. I like Delia’s tried & trusted recipe. 😋

Eggnog ice cream sounds Devine!

I really loved this video because I have a notebook for our holiday meal all planned out, as well. My menu is planned and written down, I have a list of all of my tableware, serve ware, and linens. Here in the US, many people (myself included) have Christmas patterned dishes which makes for a beautiful tablescape. I've baked all of my cookies and made the cake my mother always made for Christmas. I have placed my grocery order today too. I love seeing how others organize for holidays and parties. All of your gatherings will be a smashing success!!😁🎄

Wow, that level of organization is impressive! I love Christmas china, don't you? I have four formal sets of different Christmas patterns and three small casual Christmas sets for "just us." Thirty years of collecting them. I know it sounds overboard, but they "spark joy." 😉

My Ocado Christmas order came at 07:30 this morning - then I popped to the farm shop for some last minute veggies and grapes - then went to Farnham for a brunch with friends and some last minute the present buying 🎊 which also included a visit to Elphecks’s Department store (it’s so cute) and I bought a fabulous Cashmere blend jumper dress - and a beautiful handbag caught my eye - it was in the sale with £150 off - I de h I fed to do some more shopping and a coffee stop - but on our way back to the car I popped back in and it was still there and what is a girl supposed to do - so like you Josie - it’s my present to me ❤. It’s gorgeous and my friends agreed I don’t “need it” - but I deserve it 🤣🤣🤣. I’ve worked hard this year and lost 5st 5lbs since May - I feel so much healthier and looking g forward to 2024 and losing 3st more ❤. So I bought it 😱😱😱😱😱😱.

I actually made mince filling in my crock pot today and now I'm seeing this. I came up with my own recipe several years ago. Looking forward to seeing how you like the Highclere recipe. I also do not include meat. Interesting facts you shared about mincemeat some of which I wasn't aware. I'm American with UK roots and my mom always served mincemeat pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another interesting fact is that it was once banned in Puritan America due to superstition and supposed sinfulness and also eating it showed politically that a person sided with the monarchy. Sad that a delicious treat as this could be so controversial! 😉

Can you give your recipe with pomegranates? I love to nibble on one during Christmas, but never thought I'd do anything more with one. I do enjoy your channel here in Florida. Mince pies have suet in them..which replaces the meat…sort of !
