A Visit To Llangathen Church

Join us on our visit to St Cathan's Church, Carmarthenshire. St Cathan was a 6th Century monk from Ireland, who travelled to Scotland as a missionary. His feast day is 17th May and he was buried in Tamlacht, Ireland. I can't find any information relating to worship in Wales.
The church dates back to medieval times but has been altered at various times. Inside there are a number of tombs and memorials, also beautiful stained glass.

Thanks so much for this. I've put it on my must see list. Very sorry to see the damp, the ivy on the walls and tower and the damp affecting the memorials. The Bishop Rudd memorial is superb. There's obviously some expensive repair work required. Sadly the diocese are about to close some churches. I wouldn't be surprised if this one is on borrowed time.😢
