I watched season 4 with my mom. When Running up that hill came on for the first time I sang along, because I discovered the song randomly a few years back. My mom was so surprised because she grew up in the 80s and heard it all the time. Good ol' intergenerational bonding

This is why the Duffer brothers chose this song. It's perfect for Max and Billy Hargrove. If I only could make a deal with God and I'd get him to swap our places. Max felt guilty about Billys death and that she felt powerless to stop it and wanted to or thought about swap places with him, what if it was her. This is why Max withdrew away from Lucas and anyone she was close with so she didn't have to feel pain again or watch anyone she loved get hurt.

My cousin committed suicide nearly 10 years ago now. This was his favourite song and the song he had been listening to as he died and when he was found. It is always a difficult song to listen to, but this was an absolutely wonderful cover and i think he would have loved it. Thank you xx

My friend who was FtM transgender made a video of his transition set to this song, and suicided 2 years after posting it. It’s been 5 years and with the resurgence of Stranger Things and now Drag Race it is hard to listen to, I’m hoping to move through the emotions of hearing it ❤️

this song reminds me of my friend. she goes through so much undeserved things. i feel horrible, watching her struggle. in a heartbeat i'd switch places with her so that she wouldn't feel pain. man, it's just hard to watch the people you know go down a sad road. i cried hearing this, you have a beautiful voice. just as beautiful as my friend.

I just got home from the hospital - was staying with mom battling cancer stage 4 all day. she's bleeding, suffering, goes through so much pain. this song was recommended for me, and i do undersand why. tiny gift from life i guess.

Its very noble that you would be willing to switch places with her, it shows how much you care. Last year my dad was diagnosed with cancer too and it has been really tough, however things are slowly getting better and we will never stop fighting with him. Big Kate Bush fan here. I honestly thought sth like "young girl at a piano, nothing else, covering Kate frickin Bush? This can't be good" but gave it a try anyway. What can I say... Consider my mind blown! You have a unique voice and singing style which I really enjoyed in this song. And you made so much with so little (as in, just vocals and a couple piano chords)!

i really feel like they should use this cover in season 5 for if max really does die because it is the end of the end and the final season. it would perfectly capture all of her memories together like in episode 4 season 4 but much calmer knowing that she is finally at peace and has no more fighting left to do, it would be so heartbreaking but such a perfect cinematic masterpiece like nothing ever seen before in a tv show
