Gitana it seems like forever since your last reaction to Angelina. Hope you and your family are doing well through these trying times. This is my new #1 Angelina song, just edging out All I Ask, which was my previous favorite. Both are mind bogglingly beautiful!!!

Yes, Angelina definitely had Amy as one of her influences and I'm not going to go as far as saying one was better than the other, but Angelina's voice is much more versatile than Amy's was. Amy had her niche and stayed in it, Angelina seems to be willing to try just about anything, although her jazzy songs are the best.

FYI; Angelina just released her version of the Beatle's "Yesterday" a few days ago. Every bit as good as this; it is in one of these mono-color rooms, too.

Hello from the USA, Gitana. Our Barefoot Princess has done it yet again! The King of Pop just met The QUEEN OF JAZZ and she took one of his biggest hits made it her own and turned it into an instant Jazz Classic. All of us Angels are so proud of her and her accomplishments to date. Keep it coming Angelina.

This version is pure gold and AJ will be one of the greatest voices in music history.

Here Angelina brings something special to this song, apart from the colour changes no physical distractions, she draws us in to the story. MJ has the fancy footwork, AJ dances with her voice!

Gitana… Love your reactions! You’re always so passionate and expressive. This has to be one of my favorite Angelina covers ever. It’s amazing how she could even imagine how to reinvent this iconic MJ song into a jazzy masterpiece. And her voice… OMG. I think you will also love her newest cover of “Yesterday” (The Beatles). At first it didn’t knock my socks off but after listening to it multiple times I am amazed at how she made it her own through her jazzy interpretation. It is so clear how much her voice has matured. Her nuance and vibrato is just so phenomenal in this performance. I look forward to seeing your reaction. Thanks!

The vocals are SO GOOD! As with every Angelina performance, the more you listen to it, the better it gets.

Angelina often gets compared to Amy. She has some similarities, but Angelina is distinctively different. To me the Amy comparison is like saying Mariah sounds like Whitney or Parvati sounds like Caruso, or Bruno sounds like Michael. Angelina was mentored by jazz legends, Billie,Ella,Frank and even Amy. Remember what Picasso said, " good artists borrow, great artists steal. I noticed you reacted the way l did when she said " strong adviccccce".Great reaction G.

No, I’ve found in my five years with Angelina that you can’t rank her performances because even when she gave us Gloomy Sunday at 7 years old, that performance stands on its own. As do her other performances since then. There’s no question that her vocal abilities have improved year by year, but I am still completely captivated by her younger performances. But Billie Jean is really special. I think Angelina’s recent releases show the benefit of a superb professional team around her at Republic records. Everything she’s done in the last year has been so good. Hard to believe, but as much as we’ve loved Angelina since Norway’s Got Talent eight years ago, we’re about to see what Angelina can really do in giving us her own music that won’t sound like anything anyone else is doing-or could do.

Gitana , I must have listen to Angelina's "Billie Jean" vision 20 plus times. She has reintroduce this MJ classic with a Jazzy twist to a new generation. Gitana wait until you listen to Angelina's vision of Sir Paul McCartney "Yesterday"!! You are probably going to cry I had a tear or too.

I must be the only person on earth that wasn't entranced by Michael Jackson. However, when Angelina covers a song, even a song I wouldn't ordinarily like, I get trapped by her voice. I didn't really like jazz before I heard Angelina! No other singer pulls at my heart like Angelina does!! Angelina is a once in a lifetime talent!!!

Angelina has the uncanny ability to get inside a song and somehow with her chameleon voice make it absolutely her own. You hear it, you know her voice, it's her song. She just jazzed a signature song of Michael Jackson and swallowed it whole, now its hers. I think both of them started off so young, and had such genius, by this age, they were phenomenal. She is one in a generation (or many generations).

I appreciate that Amy is one of several respected influences for Angelina but she (AJ) has already produced a broader and longer body of work (although not all of it completely commercialized other than YT) and more variety as well. Soon people may say that so-and-so singer sounds like Angelina (although the difficulty of achieving that standard, of approximating her very unique voice and vocal skill-set, isn't at all easy to achieve). This near-total reworking of "Billie-Jean" stands in great contrast to MJ's original. No movement, no moonwalk, no glove but a series of monochromatic sets with simple camera views and only a piano backing that together say "listen, don't watch". So yes, close your eyes! This voice, Angelina's voice (as you mentioned) and delivery is enough to establish this as the milestone that it is! Thanks Gitana!

Let me comment on the Amy Winehouse comparison. Certainly Angelina's tone can be very similar to Amy's when she wants to. And she's shown that when singing some of Amy's songs: "back to black", "valerie", "rehab". But while some put Amy in the jazz genre to begin her career, I've never seen her as a classic jazz singer like Ella, Etta, or Diana Krall. She was later categorized as "blue-eyed soul", which I guess is the result of a white girl singing black soul type music. But with Angelina's arrangement of this iconic MJ song, she shows us that she is truly an accomplished jazz singer and arranger. It's that gravelly, raspy tone that allows us to compare them, but for me, that's where it ends. On another note, Amy's professional career began when someone sent a tape of her performing at age 16. She was signed to a professional contract, and as we know, she quickly had a huge following. At the height of her fame, tragically, Amy was found dead at her flat at the age of 27. A second inquest into her death confirmed that she died of alcohol poisoning after binge drinking following a period of abstinence. The irony is very evident in the meaning of her hit song "Rehab". By contrast, Angelina is not yet 16, and there could easily be a movie about her incredible life thus far. Her version of this song is totally unique, which is what she almost always brings to her performances. STUNNING!!! As always, it's great to see you doing another Angelina reaction, Gitana. xoxo

Gitana, I just realized this for the first time…when I close my eyes I continue to see Angelina singing. Consistently, with any vocal. The best part is, when there’s only audio, I can create my own images from all I’ve viewed in the past.🌸

Vocal coaches, especially those with jazz backgrounds, say that singers learn by listening to the master's. Comparing to wine, I'd say this is a robust Angelina with overtones of Amy, Billie, and Etta.

Hi, Dale. You sure you didn't think of the latest video of 7th Heaven? The black and white live studio version of Million Miles certainly have a "Jazz-clubby" feeling to it, though. No matter which one you were thinking of, I think we all can agree that anything our Angelina does is pure gold (or maybe platinum or diamonds or .....).

This video is such an interesting riff on Michael Jackson's video. Angelina pays homage to it by picking up on the monochromatic styling of the original video, and using the few colors that are referenced in that video in her own sets and clothing. But she turns it all on its head--a video that is all about movement, grit, and city alleys turns into this series of utterly constrained interiors, in which she herself never moves. Her only movement is vocal, as she plays with the timing and shapes of the sounds in this utterly jazzy interpretation.
